I know y'all didn't forget that Rakim's album, The Seventh Seal, is dropping next month. The good people over at The Smoking Section recently asked him a few questions about the upcoming album, and how a pioneer can still break new ground amongst an even newer generation. The Seventh Seal features appearances and production from Busta Rhymes, Jadakiss, Jake One, Maino, Nick Wiz and many more. Look for the album to drop on November 17th via Ra Records/SMC Recordings. Below, check out a 12 minute Seventh Seal album sampler.

i have to agree with Frankie. lyrics are on point as always, but the production is horrible! h could have went on youtube and found better producers haha. i plan on buying the album but i only heard 3 songs i actually liked.

I am a HUGE RAKIM FAN!!! I just had to state that. He is the CONSUMMATE LYRICAL RAPPER. He's so dope that he's always mentioned in the top 3 if not the number one rapper of all time. Dead or alive. Unfortunately the production sucks on this. There is only one good track and thats the song that was put on Okayplayer a few months ago. You can be the dopest lyricist ever but if the beat is garbage then there's no point. There has to be a dope beat and a good lyrics. We all know Rakims got the lyrics... but I'm sorry production sucks
