The song is decent. But I think most MC’s from the 90′s and back seem to all be talking about how wack the new school is…. And for the most part I agree. I really do. But instead of a bar or two in a verse there spending 3 & 4 whole songs talking about how wack the new music is. Once again I totally agree but be creative. New cats talking about nothing and the older mc’s talking about them. Where’s the creativity?

Cool. You know, I think that the split between the old and new school is good for hip hop. What I would really like to see is the two sides collab…Look at Rah Digga looking like your friend’s MILFISH auntie that you’d think about smashin if she’d let you…and yeah, a lot of this new stuff IS wack, but the old schoolers gotta remember: a lot of the older people before us weren’t feelin’ our music, dances, clothes, etc…it’s LIFE

Each generation thinks that their music is the truth. My son thinks Drake is the truth. Can’t tell’em otherwise. I thought Rakim was the truth. Couldn’t tell me otherwise. I’m glad that we can meet on some form of common ground and discuss lyrical ability, bars and production. What I’m saying is…I might not be in love with Lil Wayne’s music or even know what the Hell Soulja Boy is saying, (really. What are the words coming out of his mouth??) But it’s my son’s music. Kid’s Rap. Not mine, but I don’t jump down his throat about it. Instead, we talk about Hip Hop and how it’s changed, somethings for the better. Somethings for the worse. Good thing about talking to him instead of attacking; he now asks me for my Common, Mos Def and Talib CD’s. He likes Nas, Raekwon, Biggie because he sat in the back of the car as a little kid as dad bumped all the classics. My opinion. True lyrics will make a comeback only if we guide the youth in that direction without attacking their version of what is cool…

So now one line deserves a whole treatment? SMH @ the New Boyz reference over and over and over. What the hell does the treatment have to do w/ the song? “This aint no lil kid rap” and then the video’s filled w/ lil kids and Rah Digga as a teacher w/ a dictionary. She should have fired the people responsible for this video because the entire concept is WACK. I repeat WACK. Good song…baaaad video.

I feel you man I really do. And I think we are saying the same thing. I have a gripe when these types of records are just too prevalent on “adult mc’s” albums especially the ones who are making come backs. Limited subject matter especially this topic can come off preachy and make the music mundane. And although I don’t listen to most “kid rap” I just prefer a creative track than the same material. Hip hop can’t advance w/o creativity..

Ya’ll gettin way to deep on this subject. Bottom line is “this is what the games been missin’”. Rhymes to Beats and Beats to Rhymes with substance.

This track is alright… Warning Shots (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CnKHeZp0FhI) hits a lot harder… interested to hear what the rest of the album sounds like…

This song is dope! and i am sure the whole album isn’t going to be filled with this type of song but it’s a good lead, it did what it was supposed to do, make us talk!
