Video: Pitchfork.tv Special on Public Enemy
Posted by Shamz on Aug 19, 2008
For those of you "Hip-Hop heads" who may not be up on pre 93' Hip-Hop, or who only know Flavor Flav from his VH1 reality shows, this is a nice piece done by Pitchfork to educate you on one of the greatest albums ever made (there goes that hyperbole again), Public Enemy's It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back. This 3 part segment gives some background about the early stages of Public Enemy and The Bomb Squad and the creative process that went into putting this classic together. Follow me after the jump for parts 2 & 3.

Dam!! I miss the early days. Today's kids just don't understand. It's like when your parents used to speak of a place and time in history and you'd ask them to explain, but they really couldn't. You just had to be there. Looking back. I get it.

Attention: Now hear and read this. People should check this very carefully because it is history, and guess what...there is a new Rap group called PE 2.0 that is coming in 2010, and is supported and fully backed by Chuck and the PE family. The next generation of powerful, political, and original music is coming again...And again... and Again.... You heard it first...Stay tuned!
