It's almost summertime! This, of course, means that there will be a drove of dope shows all around NYC. The Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival is, naturally, one of those events. A few of the artists on the bill this year are Pharoahe Monch, Styles P, dead prez, Grand Puba, DJ Premier, Marco Polo/Torae, Brown Bag AllStars, and Tiye Phoenix. At the recent press event for the show DJ Sav*One sat down with Pharoahe Monch for this interview where they discuss the festival (its importance to the culture & to him personally), his original demo, his new solo album, a new Organized Konfusion track, the current climate in hip-hop, artists he supports, and more.
