Video: Mos Def “Quiet Dog” Live on Letterman

Mos Def's latest album, The Ecstatic, just hit the shelves today. I already made the purchase myself, and highly suggest everyone else does the same – not even just on the strength of supporting Mos Def, but because this is honestly a really good record. I've already spun through it a good three times. If you can't get to the store, amazon and iTunes got you. Above, watch Dante's performance of "Quiet Dog" on the David Letterman show last night. Mos mans the timpanis and lays the verses without missing a beat.

Just unseemly. First time I’ve ever seen an MC play an instrument and rap at the same time, also. I’m sure it has happened somewhere else tho.

I copped this album straight away. Mos Def is incredible and i want to support everything he does. The album has the sickest lyrics, beats and it incredibly original. It is a classic hip-hop record for sure.
