Video: Mos Def "Quiet Dog" Live on Letterman

Posted by Shamz on

Mos Def's latest album, The Ecstatic, just hit the shelves today. I already made the purchase myself, and highly suggest everyone else does the same - not even just on the strength of supporting Mos Def, but because this is honestly a really good record. I've already spun through it a good three times. If you can't get to the store, amazon and iTunes got you. Above, watch Dante's performance of "Quiet Dog" on the David Letterman show last night. Mos mans the timpanis and lays the verses without missing a beat.

I copped this album straight away. Mos Def is incredible and i want to support everything he does. The album has the sickest lyrics, beats and it incredibly original. It is a classic hip-hop record for sure.

DOPE.

Just unseemly. First time I've ever seen an MC play an instrument and rap at the same time, also. I'm sure it has happened somewhere else tho.

Managed to catch Mos performance on Dave. The dopest thing I have seen or heard in a long time. Like said already, you can't player hate on that Fela sample, its like that.I like it Mos had a chance to say who the sample was from. Much respect to Mos..Viva Fela. Now if you don't mind I ma go get my NORMAL 2 copies of Mos' album...Fuck the Financial crisis, what Financial crisis? 1 for the car and 1 for the crib.Already got Mos on my PC.Its all love for REAL MUSIC.God Bless REAL MUSIC.

once i bought it, i smoked a blunt and just sat on my coach and listened to it straight through twice. in retrospect it was rather ridiculous. but the ecstatic is a very dope record. And this performance is tight as well. gotta love mighty mos on the television.
