Video: Mos Def Performs New Song @ Gulf Aid Benefit

Never one to bite his tongue on the issues of the world today, Mos Def is the latest emcee to make a song about the recent catastrophic Gulf oil spill. Watch above for Mighty Mos' performance at the Gulf Aid Benefit concert in New Orleans. "The GULF AID benefit concert raised funds for wetland recovery efforts, fishermen and their families as oil continues to gush into the gulf." Props to 2-cent.com.

looking like a grown man is the way to go. People don’t suspect you of theft and when they smell your weed, you just point at the nearest poor person and run.

Yall ain’t got nothing to say about Louisiana? Not even the Mystical/Silk the Shocker refrance? “…it’s a ol’ New Orliens Classic…” That came out in ’98 or ’99. All yall can think about is the man’s slacks. He ain’t up there with DJ Green Lanturen.

@B.Abram: i acknowledged that with the “katrina clap” reference, or that’s part of what i was implying. the combo of grabbing a song from the area and using it to make reference to a problem.
