Video: KiD CuDi “Pursuit of Happiness” feat. MGMT & Ratatat

Here we have KiD CuDi's latest video, "Pursuit of Happiness," featuring MGMT & Ratatat. I like the video, nothing over the top going on, but it conveys the songs' message. Though I'm not sure if everyone wants to see all this extravagance in these days of economic hardship. Cameos from Drake and Consequence. Man on The Moon: The End of Day is in stores now.

Wow, I smell the hate…though I did expect some trippy background scenes. In the end it was not my video, but is still a good video. You can’t always please every loser huh ayayayaya?

“I don’t care, hand on the wheel, driving drunk I’m doin my thang”

Stopped watching less than half way through. Partying, girls.. mediocrity at its finest.

cudi isn’t your typical rapper, stop expecting the same old junk

what’s with the hate for Scotty? I know his delivery is different and he can’t really sing. But he makes it work and I think he does his thing very well. Man on the Moon is just one of those albums that puts you in a good mood. CuDi makes me feel good

this is the worst thing ever!!! how are they on TV

I like the song and the video. I just don’t like the message in the video that you need to party and have a lot of money and chicks to be happy or that you need to pursue happiness. Happiness doesn’t need to be pursued it’s already inside you. Probably I’m just over analyzing things

50% Love + 50% Hate = “I just don’t like the message – so god dam smooth and chill its illegal – how are they on TV? – was up wit all this hate? – Stopped watching halfway through – stop expecting the same old junk – What a clown…..lame – Wow, I smell the hate…christ this guy is horrible- well the video’s nice….”

It’s sad when people who actually like hip hop don’t understand when an artist is trying to do something different in the mainstream. You have to pay attention to the details like why is everyone moving slower than kid cudi. Sometimes we need to look deeper into videos before we write them off cause it has a real message.

the song is called “the pursuit of happiness” and not “heeey guys, i found happiness, here’s what it looks like!”! and if you watch the video until the end, you’ll get the message, so stop hating. video and song are brilliant and so is cudi’s album!

  16. avatar supamiss

The message is that happiness isn’t found in alcohol or weed or partying. In the video, he’s shown having a great time partying, but at the end he feels awful. I’m surprised by how many people misunderstood that message.

    the message is good and
    the beat is amazing
    hes just not very good
    at writing lyrics

  18. avatar PAUSE!!!

Analyze This…rewind and see…Cudi splits self…one of which is “The Pursuit” and the other cudi is “Happiness”…The pursuit is on a quest to find and maintain Happiness………….call it a lame video if you want…but the Cudi Fans and I Will be “GOOOO-AHH Ahhhd”…..
