Recently, Just Blaze and Jay Electronica were guests on DJ Green Lantern's Invasion Radio. In the clip, Just talks about how he met Jay Elec, Jay tells the story of when he "signed to Bad Boy" once upon a time, and the two share what the real hold up with Act II is. Check after the jump for Jay Elec x Talib Kweli x Mos Def x Diddy on stage last night at the Highline Ballroom to perform "Exhibit C."

this is straight fire!!!!
People keep saying take it back/I’m doing better than before why would I do that- Jay Z
“THE FUTURE = BRIGHT”- KiN CAMELL
if I ever said anything bad about Jay Electronica…..I eat my words, I feel like a strait ass this shit is dope. My only critque is I know the DJ wanted to let his lyricism shine but damn he could have chopped the track up better than that
the dj is just blaze, recognize
hell yeah,
The dj fell asleep on the beat! mos, talib and even puff kept tryin to get him to bring the beat back in pocket but it just didn’t happen— Jay’s overplaying that acapella performance sans the instrumental thing a bit much now adays… (and yes I know the lyrical content merits it)_ but damn chop that beat in– that’s part of what makes this track so ill.
as for that interview clip; – can’t believe people still throwing out that “hip hop’s dead he’s bringing it back” jive. It’s not dead it never was/just look around this site you have handful of artists carrying the torch consistently time and time again (no need to name drop) notice Jay even mentions it when he saids “he’s heard all that before”. Take note also when he asks “why this song?” just have a listen to Dear Moleskin or the Eternal Sunshine jawn. This the one that caught the “Nas” deprived radio listeners is all. They’ll call the next great thing the return of hip hop when the bandwagon comes back into town… Just appreciate the art for what it is – let’s not pigeon hole such a rare entity (already).
Peace.
Change is coming….Just respect the Fez homie!!!!
ecco got a point on that one…jay iz a beast tho
Okay listen ya’ll this track is rediculous, however, after cosely listening to all of Jay’s material, I am not sure if he has a good ear for music…lets not get it twisted, dude is lyrically nice but I think we need to wait for a full LP before annointing him. This, in the meantime, is dope!!!
whos the photographer?
If I could retweet, I’d say Word Up @ecco..
Jay Electronica is the future of Hip-Hop. I’m loving see him get that kind of love all over the board. I can’t wait to Act II.

the DJ is Mos Def’s brother lol
dude needs to get it together
shoot the DJ !!!!! LOL
this could have been a great musical moment, but i agree the dj spoiled this one.
I agree about the dj but I can’t complain yall. Jay Elec. is authentic hip-hop. It’s good to know that there is still a few cats out here that respect the artform that we all appreciate and love dearly. I’m looking forward to hearing his new material. Let me get back to work…
pff why is exhibit c the shit? none of them could give a real answer.
its cause jay electronica delivers its so mother fucking honestly that it resonates in you when you listen to it. you FEEL him when you hear that song and he opens up that intimate relationship between artist and listener so perfectly.
wow……… this kid is a problem.
this bitch dont know wtf shes talkin about…people been sayin certain rappers was goin to bring hiphop…they said kanye was goin to bring back hip hop etc etc etc….shes lyin through her teeth….for what its worth i dont think jay is on nas’s level..alotta muthafuckas is on the bandwagon and shit, but jay elec IS NOT ON NAS’S LEVEL…yall should check out Elzhi and Shad k…they’re closer to nas than jay elec
Jay is tough no doubt. The comparisons are warranted at the time Jay in his career relative to that same point in Nas’s career. Although, there was no internet so it becomes a moot point.
I will say the reporting is poor. I hate when people look for the controversy in things as opposed to the bigger issues. I can care less who the big brother is. I think most cats will say his career didn’t start with Exhibit C. Jay has a lot of promise at this point his albums will be what he is judged by.
nemesis 700: It’s 2010 stop calling women b’s. Step your vocab up.
Honestly all this hype talk makes hip hop fans seem like idiots because Jay is good no doubt and Exhibit C is a hot Jam BUT please.. Jay is gonna “bring back hip hop”? If this is the case, if this track is all it takes to be ordained the savior of an art form then maybe the practitioners and fans of hip hop don’t have much to say and that’s sad..
I don’t believe that though… I think the art-form is healthy but it mixed with the business and all the mouth is truly foul.. Don’t believe this hype it’s makes you all look bad…
Lastly, Jay is not on the level of NAS no way.. NAS is consistent Jay is not… It takes him to long to drop which is fine but not if you are the saviour of an ENTIRE art form..
Hip hop is not dead, hip hop was never dead, just look for it!
