the art of the music video has been completely lost. That was sooo boring. too bad cause the music displays so much talent and attention to detail.

As powerful as this original song is, and the technology available, I would have thought it would have been less photo ops and video face time, and more concentrated on the people who are awake working in the community daily. Peace in Iraq? Um, I would say, peace in Atlanta, Detroit, Philly, Cleveland. Nice throwback touch, but I think moving forward is what we are looking for more than nostalgia. Vocally solid and musically solid, and I would have much rather heard Tariq for the verse because with Common, um, I’ve heard it before. And unfortunately now I don’t believe you “raptor.” Melonie Fiona, beautiful and about time the word can see and hear her. Probably the brightest spot out of the whole song. Don’t call me a hater, just a critic.

I enjoy the original version much better, but wonder if the message in the music will resonate today. That being said, the vid is just so bland. Its more style than substance.

First the song is incredible – even if it’s a remake, i love the message, and the remake is powerful and well done!!! (The Roots, John Legend, Common, Mel…so what you expect…?)

But there is one more thing that I observed – watch the short comment of Mel. Fiona, behind her there is a girl in the scene, wow, look at her, isn’t she beautiful, – seems like a real soul-sister, I need to know her name……hahaha
Peace & 1 Luv – great remake of a wonderful song!!!!

Slick remake. Props on how y’all took it way back on Common’s clip. That was ill. Looking forward to the album. Love the collaboration tracks that were done on the HOW I GOT OVER album. One of my favorite albums of the year. Yes, made the purcha$e. Worth it. Play it like CRAZY.
