Video: Joe Budden x The Roots @ The Jam 4/14

Time for me to start playing catch up with all this footage I have from The Roots weekly gig, The Jam. They shut it down last night as per usual, but we'll get to that footage another day. Last Tuesday The Roots welcomed Tanya Morgan, Peter Hadar, Melanie Fiona, Nikki Jean and more on stage. I'm putting together a video wrap up from that show. For today, here are two videos I shot on my flip cam of Joe Budden's performance. Joe was out there for a good 15 minutes, but he definitely killed it. i was at this concert and when i saw Joe i didn't understand most of what he said he did mumble a lot maybe it wasn't his night.I wish i got Dice Raw on video his freestyle was crazy him and Black Though went back and forth it was so good!!!!

anybody who says anything against budden's lyrics is dumb. I think he sounds tight on record and has a nice flow. I'm saying the man ain't a live performer or at least wasn't on this particular night and it was tangible in the room that the roots felt disrespected by budden telling them to stop playing and by him apparently going on for too long. he didn't even spit a smooth acapella, he would stop after every other sentence.
dumbass, non hip-hop heads who are going to see these roots show just cause they cost $10 don't know anything and get all excited every time an emcee spits a freestyle or an acapella like it's some big feat in and of itself. i could get up there and spit some bullshit like joe budden but just cause i did it don't make it good. but these people at these shows see what, two live hip-hop shows a year? so every freestyle to them is like "oh wowy gee, look at these rappers goin off the top of the dome." fuck those people cheering joe budden at this show

Roots the illest, can't touch Black Thought, but I feel Joey spittin accepella. Roots was givin him a walk it out type beat and Joeys lyrically content didnt mesh w/ it to well. When he spit by himself to the crowd they felt it more. Sometimes the non true hip hop heads can't hear sick rhymes n beats at the same time, gotta slow it down for dem. Buddens top ten easy. Slaughterhouse, Padded Room. Can't share a stage with Thought but he belongs at the show.

I like Joe Budden a lot but am I the only one, or did anyone else there feel like he made a complete fool out of himself at the jam. He made the Roots all stop playing cause "he smokes too much" and couldn't rhyme over their music. He just went on for way too long and just proved that he is not a live performer by any means.
