Video: Jay Electronica x Mos Def “Exhibit A (Remix)”

Mos Def and Jay Electronica's The Ecstatic Tour can't hit New York soon enough (I refuse to believe there's no NY stop). Two nights ago the tour swung by the House of Blues in Jay Elec's hometown, New Orleans. The fans were treated to a Mos Def x Jay Electronica collabo with this performance of the "Exhibit A" remix, not to be confused with "Exhibit B." We're still waiting on those full length CDQ's, and I hear that an "Exhibit C" is on the way too. As you know by now with these two, there's really no telling when those will drop, but you know they'll be fire when they do.

Knaan kills Jay Electronica in musical ability, depth, and content, no diss to Jay just a response to the earlier statment and as far as the Jay Mos Def collab……lets get serious and do another Black Star album before the public forgets who Black Star was

well k’naan released ‘dusty foot philosopher’ about three years ago and has released another album since – I’m not sure if he’s exactly new

i really don’t think that the comparison’s valid. jay is a rapper, simple and plain, whereas k is harder to describe. lyrics wise k ain’t seeing jay elec. not saying he’s weak but he’s not jay. quite simple.

Why are ya’ll talking about K’naan?????? show respect! to the hip-hop God’s Mos Def & Jay Electronica. No1 is on their level. They are taking hip-hop where it needs to be. God Bless those men. Thank you for continuing to inspire heads like me. Keep it up fellas the game needs both of u. (badly)

Can people shut the fuck up about Blackstar when talking about today’s Mos Def? Yeah, its a classic album, but if Kweli and Dante wanted to hook up for another album it would’ve happened by now. I even remember Mos saying they intended it to be like a “jazz musician collabo” that was just a one-off. Shit, artists aren’t gonna keep making the same album over and over again. For the record, Jay Elect is on a whole different level than K’Naan, not sure why he’s even relevant to this video.

On topic though: I went to the DC show, it was dope. Mos did most of Ecstatic. Jay was on point (as you’d expect), though dude gets into a little too much acappella shit (pretty much every song ended in one).

JAY ELECTRONICA DID A PRETTY GREAT SHOW IN DC, EVEN MET THE DUDE AT THE BAR, HE SAID THE ALBUM IS GONNA DROP AROUND DEC, UNTIL THEN ITS KINDA HARD TO COMPARE OTHER ARTIST TO HIM CAUSE I THINK HE’S GONNA SHOW SO MUCH MORE GROWTH AS A MC SINCE HIS LAST MIXTAPE, NOT TO MENTION THE DUDE HAD GOOD STAGE PRESENCE AND CROWD CONTROLL, WICH SEEMS TO BE LACKING FROM ALOT OF LIVE PERFORMERS THESE DAYS….

Yea, but he didn’t even perform Katrina Clap. Seems like he forgot where he was after he put the t shirt on.

…around christmas 2007 i randomly discovered a guy called jay electronica in the www with a great piece of music called act1: eternal sunshine, i thought yes, this is that kind of nextlevelshit i am always waiting for..back then they said his album gets released spring 2008…now we are august 2009 and everybody knows his name, his music, his girlfriend and so on…by the time he releases his first album he will be a longawaited hiphop undergroundsuperstar with a masterplan that worked out…nice one, jayman…
