It has been a minute since anyone has heard from the mysterious Jay Electronica. Just to let you know he's alive and well, working on new music, and apparently traveling both the globe and time(?), Jay cut some footage from his trip to Asia to a new track of his produced by Just Blaze called "Dear Moleskine." The footage was shot on location by Jason Goldwatch. Specifically, in this piece, the Pashputinath Hindu Temple and The Bodinath Buddhist Temple in Kathmandu Nepal. It is from a collaborative film/music project between Jay Electronica's The Dogon Society and DECON. The project currently has no title or street date. Oh, and I was there =).
Look out for Jay Electronica on Mos Def's The Ecstatic Tour, kicking off in about week. We will post the dates later today.

Seems Like Just Blaze is always flipping someone else’s track. Deck called Budden’s “Pump it up” a “Scenario” swagger Jack. Freeway’s “Alright” is a blatant Tribe “Electric Relaxation” jack move, now this. What’s up Blaze? Where’s the originality Joe?

What I find amazing is this dude has no album out, gets endorsed by Badu and people are going nuts…wow. Calling him “mysterious”, really? He’s a descent rapper but I don’t see what all the hype is about. But I know I know I’m hatin’ right? That’s what ya’ll cats use as a defense now days LOL!

This beat is CRAZY! this is the type of music i’ve been waiting for. I’m a casual Jay fan..but if his whole album sounds like this, i’m sold. Too bad the vocals are lo-fi…prob be better on official release
Just Blaze often uses things that have been sampled before, but he manages to flip them better than anyone else before.

Jay Elec best new artist in the game. He is a beast. Just hope he puts something out soon… Time is ticking can’t keep a buzz forever. But I hope it drops cause the rap games needs a breath of fresh air…

This is tight. The beginning of the video reminds me of a scene from the Life Aquatic.
Could someone find out where the original sample of this track/ De La’s “Sunshine” is from? It is NOT the Commodores, nor Astrud Gilberto. These are sampled in De La’s track, but definitely not in this one.
By the way, I’d also like to get a reference to the psych-rock guitar in the intro.
