On Wednesday night, BMuse was in the house when the GZA performed at San Fran's, The Elbow Room, for a HUF x Jasnsport launch event. The Genius ripped through some classic tracks from Liquid Swords including the title track (above), as well "Duel of The Iron Mic," "Living In The World Today," and "Gold," which can all be seen after the jump.

You know what there hasn’t been any good performances since the very early 90′s. At least I can understand what he’s saying. What he’s doing is no different than what Jay-Z or Nas does on stage. I don’t normally jump on other peoples comments but, saying the man is too old is a dumb statement. I’ve seen some of the “New School” performances and I’m definitely not impressed with their live shows. I think most hip-hop shows are just one guy; his entourage, and a bunch of people yelling on his song. I think new artist should look back at a Big Daddy Kane show or 3rd Bass

I don’t think age has anything to do with it. More like too much success and too many brilliant albums already out that people won’t let him move on from. He probably has done those songs a million times for the past, what, fifteen years?

The live cut from the end of pro-tools sounds like he has some energy. Dude drinks a lot and your live show will basically depend on what is in his cup that night.

I can’t see the video, but I actually never thought that the GZA was the best live MC. His voice gets higher. I think he looses some of his cool on his albums. His lyrics can destroy bunkers on his recorded stuff but live his lyrics are an air rifle. It almost seems like the he ought to be center stage on a stool while in front of a mic stand and just rock from there so that he’s heard clearly and the crowd gets a clearer visual of the lyrics.
