Ok, so I know we tend to big up Exile a lot around these parts, but if this next video doesn't justify that, I don't know what will. Okayplayer recently debuted a set of three videos where Exile rocks out live on his MPC beat machine. Those were dope but this one takes the cake. Wach and listen as Exile flips some classic Hieroglyphics and also samples from Lil Wayne's "A Milli." Exile's album, Radio, drops 1/20. NYC, don't forget to check for him and Blu opening up for Idle Warship on the 22nd.

This is absolutely silly…mad props to the musical expression here.
talk about polishing a turd, haha
i’m patiently waiting for dude’s 15 minutes to be up already. not feeling it.
Ex killin it.
AWWW SHITTTE…
EXILE DOOSSIN IT.
BIG UPS!
I agree that this sort of thing is a little silly, albeit pretty impressive. I also think that Exile is getting a little too many kudos these days, but honestly, it’s hard to listen to Below the Heavens and not be impressed (and I’m not just talking about Blu).
That joint is ill!
Don’t get me wrong the first two minutes were enjoyable the rest not so much, but never been a fan of the MPC and hardware like it. Just takes away from the DJ. What you had to have speed for; mixing, adding, removing vinyls now can be done w/a push of a button.
okp haterz…..ehhhh
consider his album bought, fucking outstanding! after the first 2 minutes it got a little weird but the first minute or 2 was impressive as shit. Been wanting to see another RJD2 like artist that can release an album fully instrumental without feeling obligated to have lyrics over it n cloud the talent.
That was DOPE!
now i like Exile but come on alot of his beats arent smooth at all…there to choppy at times
but he straight tho
I agree…hes very good and creative but when he does it live without the quantizing its a bit choppy. But thats how anybodies would be without the quantizing truth to tell.
You have to remember that this is live manipulation. For the cat that mentioned ish being done at the push of a button…believe me when I say exile can cut, scratch, blend with the best of them as a dj as well. Cop radio when it drops…straight up solid!
stop hateing show some love 4 a real hiphop producer.Exile hands down is one of ,if not the best producers out dude got a serious ear 4 good music, and his talent shows in the work,KEEP MAKING THAT REAL SHIT EX!!!!!!One god One love PEACE!!!!
I’m not really feeling it either…..Okps like anything they think is different but this shit is not different. Just sounds like a white boy that just got an MPC not trying to be a racist but like every white dude i know that has an MPC makes beats like this and they go and buy every CTI record they can find and they think that shit is hot. This is annoying and after a few drinks more annoying……..Premier and Extra P are some where vomiting
i watched this…got inspired to jump on my mpc and be like him…and realized that this dude is a master! ….and when your a master, you make it look easy…i bow down to this dude!
His timing is impeccable, his music pushes the envelope of the norm, and it just makes me feel good…….this man is prolific. anxiously waiting for Radio…
4 all of u haters out there. Keep Hatin . This ish is super hard to time out and program and flip on the fly. Next level shit 4 sure. Its funny that people hate when they speak so ignorant ha. I thought this ish was really dope. Peace
Was good… until he sampled from Lil’ Wayne, cause Lil’ Wayne sucks penis.
he’s pushing buttons.
Haters are funny.. I love how cats bag on him for the stupidest reason acting like they’re all high and mighty.
This shit is mad ill and y’all haters can hardly even grasp shit like this musically anyways.
HATERRZZZZZ
that was insanely cool.
he flipped A Milli in ways my mind can barely comprehend.
motha fucccckkka i’m ILL
its like playing the drums, srcatching and beat juggling all at once…and knowing where to put notes…. anyone can do it with practice, just like anyone can play the guitar.
and as far as the haters show me up.. I would happy to see your art add to the art.
Exile
I will take the pepsi challenge Mr. Exile. I need a video camera before I can though. Heres an oldie for you though in the meantime http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uE87_YN3kJs
My homeboy and I rock duel MPC’s.
Regardless, I’m super excited to hear Radio once it drops. “In Love” is great! peace.

i can’t believe some of the comments i’m seeing here. some of you cats are TRIPPIN!! Exile is Doing the Damn Thing! but if you’ve never fucked with the MPC, you really wouldn’t know. Keep tearin it up Ex! I’ve been feeling your shit since the 4 track days with Emanon. (& I’m from Texas!!) Exile has some of the coldest fucking beats in this bitch. it’s that slumped out swagger in those drums and the way he cuts those chops that make me a fan and shit. You hating motherfuckers are HUMOROUS. http://www.myspace.com/artclassromance
hate, hate, hate…. Hands on production behind 3 ridiculous MC’s Blu, Fashawn, and Blame One….an album sampled entirely of the radio..constant forward progress…juggle all that, not to mention prodcution credits for Mobb Deep, J5, Kardinal Offishall, and Ghostface…..Songs in Video games and directing one of the sickest videos I have seen in a while……I think that homeboy emulates the definition of a hip hop producer perfectly..but that is just my opinion
