Dice Raw is a legend. But I don’t see how an honest unbiased person could possibly say that that dude Scholar isn’t super f-in dope. Jeez. It’s good to see somebody that young be that lyrical and be talking about real ish. He aint talkin about killin nobody or jewels or cars. He had real content. I dont’ think the cypher was supposed to be a battle. They both represented in their own way. But that kid Scholar earned my respect 100%. Good to see Dice though too.

Rap doesn’t move me like it use to. Besides Jay Elect! Maybe Skyzoo! I’m not really feeling today’s pre packaged, re marketed brand of the culture! Dice is my mans from around the way, but he didn’t sound too excited right there, (perhaps because he’s not)! As for the young brova, Scholar, time will tell. A lot of these hot Kats fall into mixtape, free download Hell and can’t seem to ever get out of it! The music industry is not set up to build lasting careers anymore. Nas was right when he said, “The rap game is like the crack game!” You gotta’ get in, create a buzz and try to profit as quick as you can, because the fans are so fickled and in this world of social media, people’s interest change like days of the week.

Just went and downloaded Scholar’s Insanity Plea Mixtape and watched that Sin in Me Video on youtube. This kid is deep and he’s vicious. Hip hop finally got me excited about someone young and not these old ass recycled legends from the 90′s that need to stop rapping….

why is dude “hiphophead” hatin? Dice Raw is a well respected, MC for years…… But every time you go in and cypher you can’t rest on your laurels.. How can you deny the kid Scholar!! Lyrically retarded and metaphorically he said some deep shit that i had to go back 3-4 times to get all of what he said. Some guys are lyrical but it’s a very rare exception when you get a guy with that kinda word play, that has that kind of metaphors, and doesn’t use any crutch words or bars between….. Very rare.
depth and complexity are wonderful if it is relevant to an overall message. Scholar is smart and his flow is nice nice nice, but it was like reading a philosophy book where every qoute isn’t related to the next listening to him. The greats have the ability to string together alot of deep thoughts and incredible perspective ways of putting a story together. I’m wowed when someone can tell me a story from with different perspective multiple times.
