Video: Daniel Merriweather “Red” Live on Letterman

The U.S. version of Aussie singer, Daniel Merriweather's album, Love & War will be dropping on February 23rd via J Records. The album, if you haven't heard it is tight from start to finish (produced by Mark Ronson with The Dap-Kings handling the instrumentation). The soulful sounds will without doubt remind you of Amy Winehouse's Back to Black (yeah, I know, it's hard to remember when she was just known as a talented vocalist). Daniel was recently the musical guest on The Late Show with David Letterman, check above for his performance of "Red."

Props to Yardie

He’s okay, I guess. Not bad, but sounds more over-dramatic than soulful to me. Plus, really, if we’re going to import music from Australia, we should start with the Hilltop Hoods.

Hilltop Hoods?, are you serious?? Merriweather is the shit & def our best export to the world. Check out some other tracks & judge for yourself. This def a little more commercial for Daniel & not the best track he has done, but he is a young, soulful singer with his best yet to come.

I love this song. Saw him perform it live at Social Media Week here in NYC and went home to cop it on itunes immediately.
