Fresh off his performance at the wildly successful Okay Africa showcase, Blitz the Ambassador is back for more! Today we’ve got footage of Blitz recording live, with his full band, The Mighty Embassy Ensemble, for the MTVu House Band Series (which should be released shortly – think MTV Unplugged). With many special guests along for the ride, including John Forte, and Bajah (of The Dry Eye Crew), Blitz recorded 5 live songs at at Royal Blue Studios in Brooklyn, a completely analog facility run by platinum engineer/producer Robert Honablue (who’s worked with Miles Davis, Jimi Hendrix, Sly & the Family Stone, Leonard Bernstein, Aretha Franklin). In addition to 5 live cuts, including “Kill The Radio” and “Remembering The Future,” both off of Stereotype (in stores now!) the feature will include interviews with Honablue, all special guests, and Blitz himself. Check out the trailer above, featuring a clip from the live recording of “Something to Believe.”
