After this epic freestyle cypher, Mos Def and Black Thought chop it up about Thought's lyrical display on The Roots record, "75 Bars." Fro Lab was on hand to film the two go back and forth for all 75 of those bars. From one legend to the next, I like how Mos has no problem paying homage to his peers.

Dang, how’d he memorize all that!?!?
Always dope b/c Mos Def seems like a true fan of Hip Hop. It amazing to see someone like himself (been around for awhile & successful) and can still sing along with his peers. It never seems to be the songs on the radio that most everyone can quote because you her it constantly…
True respect…
Black Thought…nothing to say but one of the greatest to ever touch the mic.
Black thought will destroy Jay-z
fuckin awesome. all of these videos of Mos Def reciting all my favorite rapper’s lines by heart (like on the MF DOOM video) makes me realize how much this guy really loves good hip hop.
black thought is underated
sad thing is if lil wayne did this song it would be one of the greatest raps this decade
mos is too cool man. dude is a straight up fan yo
Two kids that keep me living for hiPhoP
Something about Thought and Mos just mix…
This is crazy!!!! It feels good to know that some of my fav artist are still fans!!!!
for real i love the fact that mos gets giddy as everybody else when he’s around a hip hop great, even though he’s a hip hop great in his own right.
love mos, 4 minutes straight smiling
been smiling since the jump…dope.
It isnt hard to remember something you love.
both of these cats are so ill. i want thought and mos to make and ep with “the are”.
i know some… but not all… and definitely not faster than BT
Black Thought actually said nigga or niggas 36 times!! LOL This is dope. Similar to the Doom video, Mos Def is still like a kid when he hears good hip-hop. These are 2 of my favorite MC’s of all time!
2 Legends!
I thought the freestyle that Thought did the track before “75 Bars” was actually better.
these two should link up for a project, mos def !
Black Thid-Dought! and Mos! MY G*D! the power in lyrics the power in words. well spitted lol nah they arent on BT level cause it wasnt intended for that but the shit is soo REAL! in actually i could if anything only see krayzie bone spittin “that”if he knew the lyrics. at the same tempo. Black+Def equal world domination on the mid-dyk.
This is how its supposed to be!
PEACE
This is why Mos Def is so dope; because he’s a true student of Hip-Hop
