So word is already out about Bilal's new album slated for an early 2010 release. Today, we have some footage of Bilal performing a new song that may appear on the LP. The song is entitled "Levels." The clip was captured at the recent Plug Research/Vtech CMJ showcase (we'll be milking content from this one for a minute). Hawt Garbage!.. this shit is putrid.

I guess we call anything music these days..

It’s like putting shit in a bowl and serving it as chocolate pudding, as long as stupid motherfuckers are convince it’s soup they will buy it, regardless of the smell… in this case the sound.

Wake the fuck up people… the artist says it best:

“Paying This Song For Nothing” ..for fucking nothing.

So, Bilal played around with the song near the end, with the fervent, wild-ass, stage showmanship he’s come to embrace…

But if you can’t hear the brilliance simmering in this, something’s wrong with your soul.

  12. avatar polaris

i liked it a lot actually, but i can understand why his last album was never released

  13. avatar Promeneur

I like the song but those type of performance are not going to help him reach more people, and, as an artist, when you release a song or an album its for people to listen and like it.

Bilal don’t really care about that. He has a great voice but he just want to sing however he feels like. Fan like me would probably understand that it it’s his way of expressing his creativity (it kind of fits the purpose of the song) but someone who has never seen him before would probably thinks that he sucks …

    BILAL ALL DAY!!!!!!

  15. avatar i dunno

this shit is not cool, it’s disturbing to think that you can just throw some shit together, sing off key, play off key, and call it good. wake up people
this shit is all over the place in an unmusical way.

  16. avatar Word?

So where did all this undeserved Bilal hate come from? Have you ever heard him before? Go on youtube and search “Bilal Sometimes” and then take a long look in the mirror and try and say he’s not beyond amazing. Pretty much Bilal will make your favorite singer sound like an out of tune 6 year old!!

  17. avatar Hey U

this is amazing….can’t wait till hear the album

  23. avatar lord jazz

this might be out of key and wild. but it knocks for me! and btw. “love for sale”is a true masterpiece!

  24. avatar Philae

Why off key? I don’t hear him singing off key one time! This should be embraced; Bilal is a pioneer who’s walking up front. He’s not afraid to experiment… Trying to do something new with different influences and styles… You have to be ready for it.

  25. avatar Fucking unmusical?!

So weird people are actually saying this. This is so musical in so many different ways. Listen to most hiphop, how uninspiring and unmusical that sounds.

  26. avatar Groove !!!

Bilal is truth no doubt and it feels good to have a reals singer back, because this other -ish is not singing.

  27. avatar Groove !!!

Bilal is truth no doubt and it feels good to have a real singer back, because this other -ish is not singing. Can’t say hip-hop was the only thind needed saving ,because R&B / Soul was getting slayed by the posing lames calling themselves singers.

  28. avatar Kalo de 78

    lemme take you hiiiggghhherr baaaaabe
this tune is just tooo damn good!!!

  29. avatar Hotbot Killah

It’s a damn shame, some people have been sooooo saturated by B.S. for so long that when they hear good music like this they don’t even recognize it because they only know what the industry/matrix tells them is HOT…F#ck ya’ll hotbots! If this sh#t was plat and on the radio 24/7 ya’ll drones would be McLovin it!!!

    Bilal, real recognize real.

  30. avatar bilalover

  33. avatar DFunkt

1st off, this brother is a talent…so the fuck what if it is off-key!? Would u like 2 see ya favorite, Pardon…ANY artist 4 that matter up on stage doing a show from Sheet music!? IMAGINE THAT IF U WILL…{take ya time}…EXACTLY! a effin’ joke!

did n e 1 ever have nerve 2 go up 2 James brown & say stop with all the hootin’ & hollerin’ over records?! Even if it were, who on earth cares!? Bilal, my dude do what feels good 2 “YO” soul…as if there aren’t enough dim-witted nit-wits dictating what something should sound like. This dude’s a modern day JB & those who need a refresher course in Bilal.
