Producer, The Apple Juice Kid, has done it again with another dope free project for y'all. You've been hearing his name left and right around these parts as of late. This time around AJK has put together an experimental live band named The Remix Project to put out this cover album/mixtape. The Remix Project is a North Carolina collective comprised of Apple Juice Kid on the Drums, Matt Brandau on the Bass, Brevan Hampden on Percussion, Mark Wells on Keys, Dana Chell on the Guitar/Samples, and DJ Merlin on the cuts. This project is a live reinterpretation by The Remix Project of classic songs from A Tribe Called Quest, Jay-Z, ODB, Talib Kweli, OutKast, The Foreign Exchange, Scarface, Black Sheep, Digable Planets, Elton John, and many more. Courtesy of OKP & illRoots this project is now available for free download. Expect much more from Apple Juice Kid in the near future. Follow me after the jump for the stream/tracklisting and dl link.

This is funky and as always from The Apple Juice Kid very well done. Definitely going into the heavy rotation on the ipod.
Peace to the whole crew! Remix project has been killing it for years down here in the Raleigh-Durham area and beyond. They are one of my favorites to do it live. And this tape really captures the funk that they bring to the stage every single time.
Bigups!!!
I am definitely diggin’ the artwork, anyone knows who did it?
Is this the same mixtape they put out a couple years ago just repackaged? I emailed them a acouple times about but buying it and reviewing it but never really got a solid response, one NC store had it online but when I went to order it they had shut down. It had a red cover before I think?
