The Maaad Mixtapes Post
Posted by Shamz on Sep 04, 2008
So apparently I didn't get the memo that it's "Put out a mixtape" week. The net has been flooded with inumerbale mixtapes the last week or so and some of the hotter ones may have gotten lost in the fold. So to catch everyone up (myself included) here's a few of the standout ones. I know the youngins are all back in school now, so follow me after the jump so your not lookin like the uncool kid with the stale ipod playlist.
So to start things off the good people over at 2dopeboyz just put out their "A (2) Dope Mixtape: Cadillac Edition" hosted by the homies U-N-I. Next IllRoots came through with two tapes this week. The first one is a Mike Waxx & IllRoots collabo entitled "DOOMED" which is focused around the work of MF DOOM and also features blends, remixes, and some exclusive freestyles. The next tape is a Mr. X, Dub Floyd & IllRoots joint called "Masterpieces" which features many up and coming underground rappers that have been buzzin on the blogs. Mickey Factz is a name you're probably familiar with if you're heavy on the Hip-Hop blogs, and he recently put out his "The Inspiration" mixtape which should get you up to date if you haven't been following his music. BK MC Joell Ortiz just dropped "Who's Nice" hosted by J-Love. I don't know how heads are still sleepin on this dude. And finally, on the strength of FWMJ's co-sign here is The Niyat's "Vector Prime V 2.0" mixtape. I'll admit I'm not too familiar with these dudes, but I like what I've heard so far. To spare y'all from making this post any longer I'm not posting the artwork and tracklisting for each. Click any title above for all that and the download links. Shout out to the homie Legend for the assist. UPDATE: Had to add one more tape for y'all to bump this weekend. Chicago's Mikkey Halsted's "Uncrowned King" mixtape just dropped and has some well known Chi-Town all-stars featured on it, definitely worth the download.

Saint15: ...
Yeah, that Kumi Hues track is tight. He said something like, "I took you to the wizard, but you didn't want a brain".
But, that Mickey Factz mixtape is the best I've heard so far. That cat actually has some ideas in his head and most of the beats are noddable. Definitely a good look there.
