T-shirt Design Contest Winner: Donald Ely with "COOKIE"
Posted by gingerlynn on Jun 01, 2009
Congrats to Donald Ely who WON our Okayplayer T-shirt design contest! Ely created this fabulous OKP tribute to Meshell Ndegeocello's Cookie album from 2002, filling in the one missing year in our 10 year anniversary tribute t-shirt line. Read the full story behind OKP's Spring '09 tees, and then click on the OkayStore to buy. Ely's '02 design is featured in two parts, a women's and a men's design. Above, see the men's, in black. Follow me after the jump to peep the women's design, in blue. The COOKIE shirt is now available in the OkayStore!

My bad on the misspelling (Blackalicious, not Blakcalicious).

Thanks a.m am i. I appreciate the love. Yeah, I loved that Blakcalicious album. No dis to the "cookie" album whatsoever, but I felt doing a design with the Blazing Arrow motif would've made a dope t-shirt design; as well as figuring there would be plenty of people that would be feeling the idea...but it's all good. Thanks again for the love.
p.s. I'm with Dr. Derty. To the okayplayer.com people, I would love to see the other entries. I know the competition is over, and congrats to Donald Ely, but I would really like to see what the rest of us put up. In the very least just for the hell of it.

Speaking of Blackalicious and "Blazing Arrow", why don't you guys check out my design for just that: Blackalicious/ Blazing Arrow. I entered this for the Okayplayer contest, but obviously didn't win; any feedback is definitely welcome; and I definitely wish that Blackalicious would've gotten the nod...not that I'm bias or anything...

I really like this...especially his play with the color to make a men's & women's T. Kind of a retro look, too. Fun!
