Raekwon & Q-Tip Set To Drop in September
Posted by Shamz on Jul 01, 2009

It looks like September will now play host to TWO heavily delayed and long awaited albums. Raekwon announced that Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II has once again been pushed back (surprise!!). OB4CL2 will now come out September 8th instead of August 11th due to sample clearing issues (not holding my breath).Yes, that is the real album art, and yes, it's supposed to remind you of this. The following Tuesday, September 15th, Q-Tip's Kamaal The Abstract will see an official release (though I'm sure many of you Tip fans have already heard it). The album was set to drop in 2001, but now has been re-mixed and re-mastered and will be released via Battery Records.

(Yaaaaawn)after seeing Rae and Ghost last year at rock the bells in jones beach I am not so excited for Rae's album. They came on and it sounded like noise. Q-tip at the same show was off the hook and I hope this album is as dope as anticipated but I'm not holding my breath. i am finding it much more interesting to listen to the younger, hungry artists like J. cole, Blu and Wale IMO.

Word, Resin.
I dunno. I was kinda glad it was never released. Tip always compared it to "The Love Below" but I never really saw it as that, well maybe in concept only.
With exception of "Do U Dig U", I think this album is somewhat embarrassing. I'm hoping this is remastered. I'm thinking a lil more boombap can only help the sound of it. All in all - I hope I'm wrong.

Could swear just got goofy in here knowing Cuban Linx II bond to drop. The Rae & Ghost cover makes it seem like yesterday vol.1 dropped.

Love that album, and looking forward to a remaster. The Renaissance is one of the best hip hop albums ever.

IN 2001, I was all about Kamaal's Abstract Album; "blue Girl" was and remains a stand out track. The rest was forgettable, in my opinion. Following THE RENAISSANCE, I can't see Kamaal album doing very well. But, that being said, more Q-Tip is good, in any way, shape or form.
I don't know, the Kamaal album made sense to me in 2001, now it seems like an afterthought.
