NYC: Mos Def and Jay Electronica @ Governors Island 9/12!

Just 3 more days until Mos Def, Jay Electronica, and The Ecstatic Tour invade Governors Island NY. If you're in the NY area (if you're not, get there), it's not too late to get your tickets for this event. It is sure to be an epic night that you won't want to miss. With this show going down in Mos' home state, I'm sure he will bring some friends of interest on stage with him too.

Don’t feel bad if you couldn’t make it. I kinda wish I hadn’t been able to make it myself. It was my first time seeing Mos headline solo and I had been looking forward to it since I got my tickets in July. Huge disappointment. It was a schizo ass show with no direction or cohesion at all. Nothing seemed to flow and he just looked like he was going through the motions and trying to get the show done as quickly as possible. I mean, considering he didn’t get on stage until 12am (showtime 9:30), I guess maybe he was trying to get through it fast. I’ve never seen so many people just walk out of a show so early into the headliner’s set. I’ve never walked out of a show and I hung around as long as I could cuz I thought Mos would redeem himself at some point, but that never happened and I was forced to leave too. Big disappointment.

I’m not hatin’. I still love his music and will continue to support all his efforts, but he just disappointed me. There’s nothing wrong with letting it be known when someone disappoints you. Just holding Mos accountable. I know he can do better.
