How often do you get to attend an amazing show, and give money to a great cause at the same time? Next Wednesday you'll have the chance to do just that if you're in the NY area. The Heavy Sound and Okayplayer will be presenting a concert event to raise awareness for diabetes. The show will be hosted by Michael Rapaport and Phife Dawg. As many of you know Phife is diabetic, and recently received a long-awaited kidney transplant. This will mark his first appearance in NYC since the surgery. On hand to perform will be Ghostface, Jay Electronica, Consequence, Talib Kweli, and more. Various diabetic support organizations will be on-site, and donations are highly encouraged. Tickets are free with RSVP to rsvp@theheavysound.com before 11. Tix will be $25 after 11 at the door. It all goes down January 20th at The Knitting Factory in Brooklyn, don't miss out!
