February 10th will mark the 3 year anniversary of the death of the great James Dewitt Yancey aka J Dilla. This weekend in Brooklyn, NY there will be a couple of events in remembrance of Jay Dee and each to raise money for the Alliance for Lupus Research. Tonight's party, Ladies Love Dilla, will be going down at Deity Lounge with Jean Grae and Bless Rockwell on the mic. DJ's will include Beverly Bond, Jasmine Solano, Brina Payne, and more. Also, featuring a live band tribute to J Dilla from Revive Da Live.
On Saturday, Okayplayer is proud to once again be a part of Rareform's Donuts Are Forever tribute to Dilla. Donuts Are Forever 3 will be poppin' off at Public Assembly in Williamdburg. This event will also be a Lupus awareness fundraiser. Donwill and Von Pea of Tanya Morgan will be hosting the affair, with DJ Center, DJ Parler, Waajeed, Sucio Smash, and more on the turntables. Both events will be attended by many and enjoyed by all, so be sure to show up early.
