Many a rapper lurk on the infamous Okayplayer message boards, and every now and then some notable characters will jump into the shark tank head first. On Wednesday a popular debate was once again sparked up, Jay Electronica vs. Lupe Fiasco. It has been argued on the boards who is the better of these two top tier emcees. It was suggested that a no-beef-involved battle should go down for the betterment of hip-hop. Lupe decided to give his feelings on the matter via this rhyme he wrote. Of course none of this is to be taken too seriously, but entertaining stuff none the less.

I saw jay elechanukkah in concert and he openly declared himself the best emcee living (minus mos def) and said he’d eat up any challengers. I suppose that means his reply is imminent.

Wattever, I saw Jay electronica twice in Vermont over the past year and he played almost identicle sets, same with the roots. Artists need to understand that if they want there true fans to come out and see them everytime they come to town, they need to diversify there sets a little more. You can’t argue with dat, I was there, I saw it, it’s a repeat everytime.
PS- JAy Electronica claims that he is the best because he is too drunk and high to be in touch with reality, c’mon, let’s be real. You should have seen him after the show, dude was a mess.

Jay doesn’t have as much material or past albums to fall back on for shows, cut him some slack. Dude doesn’t even have an album out yet and you’re complaining that he only plays 10 songs live? No shit man.
