Jay-Z - Blueprint 3 Artwork & Tracklisting [UPDATE]
Posted by Shamz on Aug 19, 2009

I'd be cheating y'all not posting this. Here is the artwork and rumored tracklisting for Jay-Z's Blueprint 3 (9/11). I don't know what to say about the cover, but as far as the tracklisting goes a few things stand out: 1. Very Kanye and No I.D. heavy on the production (a very good thing) 2. There's another attempt at a Jay x Nas collabo ("Success" was good, but overall, that track and "Black Republican" could have been better) 3. Young emcees KiD CuDi and Drake made the cut, while I see no Beanie Sigel, Young Chris, Memphis Bleek features...hmm. Anyway, hit the comments and discuss. Shout out to Jay-z.com for the cover and 2db for the tracklisting.
UPDATE: Brought this one back to the top because the official tracklisting just dropped. Check after the jump for the Blueprint 3 back cover. It has a few additions and a few omissions, so the old one is underneath to compare the two. Looks like Alicia Keys snatched up Nas' spot, glad J. Cole made the cut though.

Did Kanye force Jay to use Cudi, Mr.Hudson and Drake? Dang, I feel this album will be too muddled.

I stand corrected on the "Bean-less" album remark (even though really "Ignorant Sh-t" was an old track they resurrected).
I fx w/ J. Cole & Kid Cudi. New hip-hop is cool... but I have to agree with whoever said that one of the reasons the original Blueprints was great was because of its lack of guest appearances (save Em).

Imma big Jay-Z fan, but this might be too many features. Feature heavy albums tend to lack a solid identity. A guest spot here an there is cool but, 12? I will still buy it b/c I like who he has on there, but the only time this many features make sense is when you a producer. Just my opinion

KRS-One and Rakim are the rap Gods.....as far as skills Biggie, Big L, Nas, Talib, Black Thought, but........the smartest rapper in the game is Jay-Z, he is smart not in the way that lets say a Mos Def is smart but smart in the way Henry Kissenger approached foreign policy (for good or for bad)......rap purist that attack his choice of Drake and Kanye really miss the point and will do terrible when it comes to marketing products

honestly, i like jay, but this is marketing. he's got guest spots for all 20 year olds. he doesn't have his wife on a track. he doesn't have any veterans spitting.
i also don't know why the track list image doesn't match the track list text, that shit is confusing.
i will get blueprint3, but i am counting on cuban linx2

too many guests, i agree. production looking illy-think we all agree on that from earlier posts on this. alicia keys over nas i can come to terms with, but co-signing all of these newcomers seems a bit UN-King of NY/ Un-American Gangster (perhaps the reasoning). Jay, it better be classic or that's '1 hot album every 10 year average'- not literally, just saying...we love you as a mogul don't make us hate you as an emcee

Here's the reality. No matter if you are a fan or not, you have to take close notice to Jay Z because he's currently the biggest giant we have in Hip Hop. We experience his evolution, or lack there of when he drops an album. I'm looking forward to it because I know it will be at least one song that will inspire what I do as well. As far as guests I think Drake and Kid Kudi are a little over rated because although newcomers, I know 50 emcees better...

The 3 lines need to be blue, not red. It would only makes sense considering the last two were primarily blue, black and white. Hopefully with Kanye and No I.D. on the beats it'll be as good as the original blueprint (one of my favs). Hopefully it's not all cut-beats passed up by Kanye for his 808's album. I love Kanye but that ish is getting old, he needs to go back to his old ways...

Cover is sick. Autotune and Kanye arguments need to stop. 808 had way more artistry than most people realize. It will be looked at as Kanye's artistic masterpiece in the future.

Love the discussion yall... I have a few things to cover...
Hi Stakes im feeling your point exactly...
1. I think the album will be dope first and foremost... Reason being, I did my Hova rewind and played all of his albums to get an understanding why most consider him the best rapper ever. Well my conclusion after all of the albums is yes his is one of the greatest but never the best ever... Not hating, Im a Brooklyn nite (flatbush) like hov but Biggie would have potentially been the greatest ever... Period!!!
2. The album consisting of Kanye/NO id production will prolly surpass most of Hov's Albums as far as content and substance since Jay is older now and understanding of the state of hip hop which is confused and image driven. My guess is the reason for selecting Ye/No was to keep the feeling serious rather than Big pimpin, or Sunshine.. I honestly thing hov is past that level and wants to try and bring back that 90's feel of hip hop where back packers as well as commercial boys can rock to... And i did think this from his openening act for this album, D.O.A.. It was smart and ever so needed to almost get artist and fans to wake the F up and say wait, "didnt this guy just say the same thing as this dude"... I can promise you the lyrics on this album will be a more underground feeling hov...
3. And last but not least, everyone is questioning or wondering where Beans, Young Chris, and Memphis are.. Well i mean seriously people, where have they been the whole existence of Rocafella... On the side or playin the back role to the ROC himself, Jay-Z... I think hov has just simply looked forward to what the future holds for him as far as music.. them old roc dudes arent even on the same page business or music wise.. They his homies but come on sometimes you gotta keep the wheels turning fam.. .

To InHyding: Just because Kanye is responsible for the vast majority of the production doesn't mean anything as far as Auto-Tune--and in fact, Jay-Z and Kanye both told MTV News that there will be no Auto-Tune on this album. Besides, how many years has 'Ye done Auto-Tune? Not even one full year, counting from the release of 808s.
To don.kwon and The.Duke: The Black Album didn't have his likeness on the later copies either--the second issues of that album did exactly how Prince did with his original version of "The Black Album" with all-black with the CD case.

Kinda worried this album is just going to be a cop-out to the new generation and him trying to fit in. Bowing out to Kanye on both on almost complete production domination as well as un-Jay like album art. Mid-life crisis album anyone?

How the f you gonna do a song called D.O.A.(Death of Autotune) and use Kanye for 75% of the production. Isnt that kinda like the US selling weapons to the Taliban only to go to war with them??

Now NY has to hang up the egos. How can we put together this Jay-Z/Nas/Ghostface album (DOUBLE ALBUM)? the features are endless,First and foremost,You gotta have Fat-Joe and Busta.Hands down Jada and Raekwon. If possible I would LOVE to hear Prodigy on this and/ or Fame. Common instead of Kanye,(nothing against 'ye)He could fit somewhere though.
Figure out how to get Rakim and G-Rap. Just to be on some other shit, I want Scarface,3000, and Cube(even Snoop wanted to be Cube).Luda could get on it we gonna call Bun and Marshal(Em) too.
Fuck it since I got them, I'm gettin Juve the Great.(Sorry Wayne!)
Production From Dre of course,(maybe a verse too.Matter of fact,HELL YEAH!!)Salaam Remi,? Love,Q-Tip,Havoc,DOOM,Neptunes,HI-TEK,ALC,Just Blaze.Maybe some Will-I AM.
Mary J. Beyonce on some hooks,Definitely,Donnell Jones Anthony Hamilton,Jill Scott,Marsha, Badu.
Sleeper guest; Phonte,Planet Asia,The GAME...Of Course theres more!!..

Here's what's ill, on top of NO JUST BLAZE production...no 9th or Premier! No Sean C & L.V.! No newcomers at all, really. That's a little disappointing and to be honest, I wouldn't mind him corralling some of his rookie producers from "The Black Album" and "The Blueprint" like The Buchanans, Aqua, and Bink.
