J. Cole released his long awaited and highly anticipated mixtape, The Warm Up, earlier today. The Roc Nation emcee reppin' Fayetteville, North Carolina lets y'all know why he's a voice to be heard in hip-hop in 2009 (and beyond) with his latest project. Follow me after the jump to find out why I've been gassin' this dude up.

It amazes me that there will be 1000 comments about how great some wack subpar hip hop is on this site. How bad music is. But when someone comes with some great material…all i hear is silence. Hate is a strange thing man.
I feel you Realist.
Respect when respect is due.
Thats whats wrong with Hip-Hop, Yall older cats aint givin no respect, and showin youngsters how its done.
This shit is ill. I had been hearing about dude and dying to get some of his material. I just finished playing The Warm Up today and I must say I’m thoroughly impressed. This dude’s obviously got skills and I can’t wait to see how he does with the machine he got on his back.
Seen Dude on Green Lanterns Show today, and thought: the dude brings that raw energy to the table at the same time puttin’ some consciousness behind the bars. This so-called “Mixtape” has more substance than some of the new cat’s whole catalogs – word bod.
