Looks like Digable Planets are back on the scene. They just released this new mixtape entitled Sounds of The 7th Dimension (mixed by DJ Alex J). The project is meant to support their tour that kicked off on the 13th (dates after the jump). The tape includes exclusive rare remixes of classic Digable Planets material, and also includes new unreleased music from Butterfly and Doodlebug. Gotta love the guy who complains that 60+ minutes of FREE incredible music is not chopped up into tracks. Guess what? TONS of free editors out there. Grab one and chop em up yourself. Total time from software download to complete chops is less than 10 minutes…is that really an issue in exchange for what you get?

Ladybug didn’t want to make any new music, Ish and C-Know did and still do. The new demo Freshout is on this mix, it’s ok, C-know not suited to slower tempo tracks. Saw them live in SF this weekend, Ish’s Shabazz Palaces stuff was crazy! The Digable portion of the show was also live, the band brought out some new stuff in those old stalwart tracks. Love the DPs, Ladybug or no Ladybug. Ish Butler is the truth.
