Mr. Hamilton feels people are too quick to judge him without really getting to know who he is, so check the tapes, then insert as much love/hate as you feel necessary. When Charles actually has something to say like in the last 2 tracks, especially the last track, then his shit is kinda nice. But nobody cares about a nobody sounding all mad for no reason and going on and on about how their the best. That shits been played out.
Being signed is one thing gettin your shit off the shelf is another. I’d be surprised if Interscope takes a chance and releases this cat. I don’t think many ppl care how many rappers or producers endorse him. U cant make ppl like someone.

The music industry is full of shit! Why doesn’t Okayplayer give the artist who don’t have a hookup with Green lantern a Shot at sponsorship for a mixtape? This kid sucks and Okayplayer keeps shoving his wack ass music in our ears. The internet i.e hip- sites and blogs are worse than commercial radio. OkayPlayer I enjoy the site but you guys should have a panel vote on mixtapes or albums before you vouch for them. I know his label probably paid you , but damn is there any integrity anymore.

Why don’t we give the rapper without a hookup with Green lantern a shot? you mean artists like Theo, Add-2, Ced, and Torae? None of whom have record deals yet we posted their tapes on the strength of being fans of their music. We don’t expect you to love everything we post, and I’m glad your expressing your opinion on it so we can take it into consideration in the future. But don’t blindly hate when the issue you complain about isn’t even that serious. There are PLENTY of unsigned artists that we post that don’t seem to get much of a response, and when we post someone like CH who’s all over the net the “what about (insert unheard of rapper’s name)” argument comes up. Be clear Interscope damn sure did not cut us a check. A lot of artists have gotten on this page simply by emailing me their music, not by the label politics a lot of people think goes on with OKP. So if there’s someone you’d rather see up here that’s your best bet.
So artist know what is the email address they should send it to?
Also shamz music is for the people I’m sure you know that. I am not the only one expressing my opine of CH. So if the people have spoken it should reflect on your site and you and CH have to chalk it up a loss. Sorry Interscope didn’t cut you a check cause that’s the only way I would praise hot garbage….

I have no problem with you expressing your opinion on the music and I hope you continue to do so, whether it’s hate or love. As you can see there have been mixed feelings about it so I’m not sure how u figa it’s an L. But whether the tape is fire or hot garbage that’s not what I’m talking about and “praising” and posting are two very different things homie. I was mainly addressing this whole notion that we ignore lesser known more talented artists or that we only post artists we have some sort of connection or are getting paid from. I know I’m addressing these responses to you but there have been others who say similar things so I’m just clearing it up for everyone.

I agree the last 2 tracks are the only one’s that half kept my attention. Message to Charles Hamilton- don’t burn yourself out with these mixtapes. Deliver a solid album and make sure your live show is tight…It’s more important that street cred.

I’m not gonna say that our rap heroes suck, but half the time they aren’t saying much in their raps either. Certainly, there are a few that always have something real to say. But it comes down to rhyme delivery and rhyme diversity when it comes down to MC skills. The nature of hiphop is about “being the shit”. I found over the years, that it’s what I love and hate about hiphop all at the same time. And I also found that many of our rap heroes are living off their legacy from 1 or 2 albums or a few 12″s.
That said, this guy’s fresh.

not a bad mix tape but his voice gets annoying. was he sitting down in the booth or somethin? lol I mean I get what hes trying to do but I think hes trying to be a little tooo cool. But none the less his mixtape is alright but annoying. It will probably get 2 plays MAX.
