Black Thought Says Goodbye to the Knitting Factory in NYC

Black Thought pays adieu to the Knitting Factory in NYC during the historic venue's final show where he performed alongside legend Rakim.  In the three minute clip, Black Thought regales attendees with stories of his fondest memories from the room from over the years.  "This is our CBGBs .  I feel the same way about this venue that I did when Tramps was closing down."  One question though, what is the "Brad Rubens shit?"  Video via Cons TV.  Two sets of Mel D. Cole's photos from the event after the jump.

Just like Wetlands of the late nineties, many of these locales that showcased primarily progressive artists are closing its doors. Without major coporate sponsorship like the Nokia Theater, these joints close down. Its a shame.
