trill, anyone whose been into true underground hiphop knows that MURS, aceyalone, Dilated Peoples, and Atmosphere would take a shit on the Roots, Blackstar, etc. at least lyrically, and certainly even beatwise if you value the unorthodox styles they brought. Granted it’s a bit apples to oranges…At the time the east coast was ruff rydin and your options were the okplayer folks you name who, granted were tight, but at the time were still based in the same type of “neo”soul/post golden era east coast hiphop rhyme and beat patterns.
I mean, definitely, respect due to the older OK players, but honestly, MURS, Acey, Dilated, and Atmosphere may or may not have dumbed down their styles for the masses, but they’ve always been bringing it.

Hey Kid Truth there is plenty of reason to break down the boarders between Canada Mexico and the US….first of all the Dollar ain´t worth much these days anyway. But creating a new contry will make the government able to change the constitution..as is, there is a lot of thing they would love to do but aren´t able to.
That doesn’t make any sense at all Sen Dido. Anything in the Constitution can be amended, for one. Second, the US dollar may be sinking in value, but so is Mexico and Canada’s. Taking on Mexico’s economy in particular would demolish USA’s standing as a world leader.
Canada and Mexico have the 13th and 14th largest GDP in world … and Mexico doesnt even have stability just imagine if they got on their job … taking them wouldnt really “demolish” the US standings as a world leader … look at all the ports that could regulate import and export, oil reserves, the consolidation of billion dollar industries, etc. etc.
reasons why there shouldnt be a unified economy, are countless, but the unification of a curancy its practicly imposible, at least in the short term, want a simple reason?: i mexican worker would be making a fraction of a us or canada worker even if paid on the same currancy , and knowing how the us goverment is quick to take advantage of any country it occupies or has treaties with, will beging exploting Mexicos rich natural reasorces for self benefit, nuff said

damn. i started reading the comments in the post from the first one, and became so engaged in the discussions being held simultaneously. Just by reading the comments i became exposed to differing points of views and opinions on topics ranging from the current quality of a genre of music in juxtaposition with its past form, to socio-economical theories of neo-colonialism and acquisition. until..JDOT’s comment. My heart fell, the disappointment was such that my brain temporarily refused to accept the visual input of my eyes, which were JDOT’s publicized thoughts. Then i realized how analogous this occurrence is to the current situation of our beloved genre which, to many of us, incorporates a huge chunk of what constitutes our “life” and the style we chose to carry it. Damn.
