Audio/Video: Nat King Cole – Re: Generations feat. The Roots & Nas

You may or may not have heard about Nat King Cole's upcoming album, Re: Generations (check the video above if you're unfamiliar). This project puts some of the world's most pioneering musicians, producers, and DJ's, and their distinct styles, on 13 of Nat King Cole's most known records. The album was executive produced by Carole Cole (Nat's daughter) and features Cee-Lo, The Roots, will.i.am, Cut Chemist, Just Blaze (song is hilarious), Nas, Izza Kizza, Stephen and Damian Marley, TV On The Radio, and more. " Re: Generations honors Nat King Cole's continued cultural influence around the planet, 90 years after his birth." Like many other people, I usually cringe at the thought of posthumous collabo albums, but after hearing most of this project I can definitely respect how they put this together. Enjoy these two cuts off the album, "Walkin' My Baby Back Home" featuring The Roots and "The Game Of Love" featuring Nas and Salaam Remi. Re: Generations will be in stores March 10th.

These cutts are the best of both worlds.Mr.Cole was such a smooth artist at a time when times were tough for black artist…However his smoothness and classynes won the hearts of many! His preasents and talent are untouchable. Also along with the roots and the efforts of many others on this colabo,i think its tastefully done.God bless.

Incredibly good. Lookin’ forward…Tracks seem to be stylistic by giving nat a lot airplay on the tracks.
Nas shows his talent once more

Wow this is what the Radio needs yo! Cats need this type of integrity badly. The younger folks that is! this is that raw that will have them thinking and being on a whole other LEVEL!

in this age of selective promotion and commoditization in all genres of music, this is a great way to educate, honor and provide fresh material for all to enjoy.

Leave the originals alone….stop butchering classics!!!

Both cuts are nice, I dont think their aiming to be better than the original. That just wouldn’t be realistic. They’re trying to create a whole new sound. It’s nice. Better than most collabo albums.
Will most likely pick up a copy.

this is definitely class in music. Nat always had that and this project pays definite homage to his music and what he endured to make it and bring in to the masses.
