Pretty decent, but not as impressive as the earlier tracks. The melody lags behind the production. The lyrics feel undercooked, particularly in the unimaginative chorus. A little derivative, but seeing how it deliberately echoes the 60s, that's to be understood. With that said, solid, but unremarkable. Perhaps it will need room to grow. Still looking forward to the album though.

especially since Isaac Hayes just passed, the timing for this music couldn't be better. The ancestors are happy. Unfortunately, because many new day music fans don't know the shoulders we stand on, they'll miss this.. Classic

I can see gettin deck out with the wingtips, crisp edged fidora looking clean as all hell, knowin that I had to make church the next morning but hid from God's gaze just for a few hours while at the Cotton Club. And I'm a baby of '75. Keep it movin Saadiq. This is one I'm coppin' with the quickness.
