Audio: Q-Tip “I Believe” feat. D’Angelo

A few weeks back we posted a Q-Tip song that was recorded a few years ago that may or may not be on his upcoming album, The Renaissance (11/4). A lot of people hadn’t heard it and enjoyed it so we’re going to post one more from that same time period. This one features D’Angelo and is called “I Believe.” Before the Tribe Stans launch their attack, I repeat, we know this song is not new, but it is dope none the less.

With the return to the so called 80′s I sure hope that this means more music with substance is also returning. Good productoin, the best hook singer ever, and a mc whose words I can understand. This good hip hop, and it will sound good in the jeep. Why would anyone want to see the eighties again?

i think D’angelo has the capability of being a modern day marvin gaye but he hasn’t done enough to make that statement yet.

Yo… King On Mars… just FYI… The 80′s were an age of music where there was less emphasis on what genre or what color the artist was playing and moreso on just plain feel good music. Radio stations were almost all playing the same music… you’d hear The Police and then Chaka Kahn and then George Benson or Simply Red. It was a beautiful moment for music that dropped a lot of timeless classsics…

Love the 80′s!!! Oh… and ‘Purple’ music wasn’t a guilty pleasure either LOL

Actually, although very apples to oranges..I think D’ang and Marvin Gaye have proven more, but I think Robin Thicke is the modern day blue eyed soul version of Gaye. He hasn’t really proven longevity or anything, but the ‘evolution’ album was tight. I think d’ang is on his own level

Tip and D’Angelo always ahead of the curve.hope Tip’s new album is, and not some nasally nostalgia(love tip’s voice-no diss). But, half the cats on this blog prolly the same ones who shitted on “The Love Movement”. think about it.

  17. avatar WorldSpectacular

Oh!and D’angelo does need more work (or popular works) to be mentioned in the lane of Marvin.
