I remember being in the building a few months back for the finals of Red Bull's Big Tune Beat Battle in NY. The hands down winner of the night was a 17 year old kid out of Chicago by the name of C-Sick. The lil' homie did his thing, but I hadn't heard his name since. As part of his prize, C-Sick, got to hit the studio with an emcee of his choice (Nas) and put a track together. Here is the end result, "Film" (the myspace rip had been floating around, this is the CDQ).

Nas "Film (prod. C-Sick)"

Dope track. Nas’ choice of beats have been on and off for me over the past few albums. He should do more with this dude.

C-Sick is dope! And cat is only 17..WERDEMUP! Dope joint, y’all!

  • MapleHutt (DJ Tang-a-Lang)

Great track! The feel of it reminds me of “The Truth” by Pharoahe, Kweli and Common.

    Nas done won

  • dnice1210

Nas is butter over this joint. Youngin is nice with it on the beat.

  • happytrees

production is nice… I wish nas could stay on topic for a whole song tho.

definitely not estelle on the hook.

  • The woman on the hook,

    got a B.I.G. lisp.

this track would be great if it wasn’t for the chick with the wicked bad lisp. damn that lisp is annoying…

Exhibit A: Tight Mastery of Lyrical structures – Nas seems to transition from thug to griot to rap star with the ease of a shifting C-class on the Audobon. Looking foward to Distant Relative in the fall, C-Sick does his thing here, keep the production tight lil man! Can’t say I am all comfortable with the Kelis situation, but then again, I’m not privy to all the info nor do I need to, as long as he stays a father in the seed’s life. Big up Nas, C-Sick!

I’d be worth downloading w/o the chick with the lisp. Nice beat tho.

  • GRANDPA-J®

whatta dream it musta been for C-SICK…NAS is gold.

  • austin cat

i rather hear Nas rap over lil homies beats
other than the wackass dudes hes been getting beats from.

this is a cool little joint here.

  • jDOT

Yeh, they should filter that lisp out. Its dreadful and gets me H’d. Pause.

  • joo

props to c-sick. .must have been a dream come true.
    but damn
    that lisp is crazy.
“if i could preth pauth or fathstfoward pathst the hardneth”
haha kinda funny that the phrase has mad s’s too. . .

  • reality check

Nas sounds great but this really could have done without that hook. What is with that lisp? And this is an Ultra Nate sample right? It’s ‘Free’ by the sounds of things unless she sampled it from somewhere else.

The beat is ill, I am glad to hear that Nas still has it, I was let down by tne N$%%^ album because it took a different angle from the mixtape. I liked it but not loved. That is kool that this youngin got to work with a artist of his choice.
