i guess murs doesn’t understand that there’s this negative stereotype out there about asian women being exotic and hypersexualized. sorry, murs. i like you, but you made a song that plays off the kinds of views a lot of asian women are trying to get away from.
also, on another note which is not entirely unrelated, in some countries in asia (cambodia, thailand, philippines) women make a majority of their capital/exports. in other words, women are the major commodity and unfortunately a lot of them fall victim to human trafficking and the sex trade, much of which is popular because of the kinds of views that this song is alluding to.
did murs intend to do that. course not, i’m just saying…we don’t another fool with an asian fetish runnin their mouth in songs that don’t combat these negative perceptions of women, in this case asian women in the world.
