I see some tributes floating around, but we're going to let MJ handle the vocals today. With that being said, from one passed legend to another here's J Dilla's remix of the MJ track "HIStory." The original track was from MJ's '95 double disc album, HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book I. This is the same album that brought us mega hits "Scream," "They Don't Really Care About Us," "Stranger In Moscow," "You Are Not Alone," and more.

Just an FYI, it’s been confirmed that Dilla had no hand in this Ummah remix. This is all Q-Tip & Ali
there was a lot of work that dilla did that got no credit everyone should know that and since we were not there who are we to say anything
Tip confirmed it. I don’t know why he’d lie about it
i dunno.. you have to admit that it sounds a lot like… Dilla’s sound. at least a lot more than, say, pre-Dilla Tribe production. if you’re throwin Tip’s word around, could you at least link a source?
yeah i guess you guys like this then? hahahahahahaha
whoever produced it, remix is smooth. definitely gonna go onto the MJ playlist
i coulda sworn ali did this.
havent heard this version before..very very tight.
this track is amazing from two true legends
Ali produced this. Not Dilla.
this doesnt sound like dilla.
the bass is too constant, the hats arent very dilla
sounds like a tribe remix
