i hate the fact that there are so many producers on the album and so many features this is more like a compilation than an actual lp we need to get back to making albums with one producer throughout and much less guest i buy the record because i like the artist so i dont want to hear a bunch of other cats on the record, just my opinion anyways.

This song isn't about T-Pain. But I just can't believe how many people hate on T-Pain in general. hiphop and r&b heads love hating on him. I feel like he's the leon ware of today. Anyways, we'll let history be the judge of that......back to bdi and the philosopher. Very nice track. Can't wait to hear the songs with Rock and Black Milk.

Auto tune has been used in the past before T-Pain, yes. However, shit is getting ridiculous, everybody using it now is biting. When Bambata used it, it was something different and unique. The problem isn't the technology itself it's the way it's used. I don't understand how anyone could not be sick of it by now when practically every song on the radio sounds like a robot (no pun intended, I mean literally a singing robot). It's like it was cool when Das EFX had their "wickity" shit going on, not cool when everybody else started doing it because it was so obviously contrived. I wonder what T-Pain will do once the trend dies, auto tune is all that dudes career is based on.

I'mma a long time fan of KRS and Buckshot. But as KRS stated, it's not a diss to audio tuning, especially since artists that both Buck and KRS respect (i.e. Roger, & Afrika Bambata) used this same piece of equipment. Many of you think your're agreeing with them, but you're really missing the point. Using auto tuning isn't anymore a hip hop sin than using reverb, 808's, separate tracks to backup lyrics, scratching, etc. All these are tehnological influences which at some point began as a trend and then became acceptable standards in hip hop even by "real" MC's. The complaint is not the use of the equipment, it is the cheapening of the style by toys in the industry. This song is dissing "bandwagoneers". The complaint is the abuse of ginuine artistry being used primarily for commercial purposes. In other words, biters saw the commercial success of one cat and decided to copy. This as opposed to someone who said wow I like that sound, I can use that to express some of my own orignal material in a way that conveys it to the people exactly the way I'm feeling it. Just like scratching, the overly used & abused 808 in the early 90's, the raggamuffin style, and the posse cut at the end of the album; when done right, by real cats like Afrika and so on with artistic value placed above commercial value, it's cool. Remember, it's just a piec of studio eqipment. Hip Hop has always been about stepping out of bounds and limits. To say "you can't use that piece of equipment to make real hip hop" is NOT HIP HOP! Again, it's just another piece of equipment and like every other technological standard in Hip Hop music it's how you use it! Are You saying something worth listening to? Even if it's an old idea, there's nothing wrong with recalling old concepts as long as you can give it a fresh perspective; otherwise you're just reinventing the wheel.

i really liked that the song made fun of the audio tuning fad that has taken rap on the radio by storm.
madonna and cher did that audio tuning in the 90s and now its popular in hip hop?

Putuma, who got a point. There definetely needs to be fresh and new material that clips the people. But the cats that are making this shit don't get heard. It's the corny ass ROBOTS that get all the light. That's why songs like these need to be made. See a cat like Soulja Boy couldn't make a song like this because it's out of his element.

yo i love real hip-hop to death n stay preachin the shit they spittin bout in this track to ignorant cats who dont rlly kno the knowledge behind hip-hop, but wat R3K and Putuma sayin is the truth. we aint revivin hip-hop by talkin bout the problem wit in every track. instead let everyone start coming from the heart n up the standard so that cats that aint spittin that REAL music from the heart, is gon be the minoroty n cats that rlly Move the Crowd n ppl n real MC's is the standard and majority.

Listen to Jon Hope "somekind of wonderful" 3 times back for a real approach to this..enough with the hip hop is dead shit, buck n krs are legends and theyre still dope, but enough rhymin about how other people can't rhyme!!!! Take heed from these new guys with soul and passion towards ARTISTry, not just anger towards the industry.
and k'naan said it best when "underground n*ggas is just rappin about rappin" ..not an exact quote but you get the point.

LOl this guy under me is upset. He must be who they are talking about!! LMAO This is hot as hell. What people talk about and say to each other. This is barbershop talk. Hip Hop isn't all one way. When it is even with music like this we will se what side one follows. This is crazy!

KRS and Buckshot make an entire song about the state of the industry, and we are supposed to bob our heads and dance to this ? Where is the rhythm, the groove, the swing in the music ? Even their spoken parts sound like a lot of dry talk that happens to end up with rhyming words, but the soul of the poetry itself (if that's what they call this) is buried in this boring press-conference and history lesson. It's not entertaining anymore to make music about the industry. It's old. These MC's are old. This song is old. This press conference has been delivered over and over and over again. Let's make fresh and new music and move the people !
