the music is dope, which is why I always give this guy a listen because he has a good ear for beats…but this Cudi kinda sucks…I’ve heard his “whoa whoa whoaaaaaaaaas” plenty of times already…I said this before and I’ll say it again…if half of the beats on Cudi’s album were on someone elses project..someone with a lot more talent, then it would’ve been a classic. He’s just not that good. hey it’s still better than 95% of commercial hip hop artists that get radio play, that’s pretty sad

sigh… Cudi is the MOST frustrating “artist” in the hip hop community. I feel like the talent is there, somewhere, hidden beneath the weak lyricism. I feel like the only interesting EMCEE in the mainstream game these days is Lupe and Em. Jay-Z is making anthems, but he’s certainly living in the shadow of his old self. Kanye wasn’t ever an emcee to begin with. Wayne has moments of promise, but very rare and very weak. Drake is the son of the newer, wacker Jay-Z… sigh… sucks, where’s my old 36 CHAMBERS album?

I like Cudi but I agree with the previous evaluations… he is not a good lyricist but I would have him in the studio picking music with me because he has a heck of an ear.

Cudi is a beat driven artist. His lyrics were never impressive I hated man on the moon. Maybe my ear is stuck in 95′ but I need something to that’s going to make me bob my head not this half singing half rapping foolishness. I agree with fallofJericho the main stream artist of decent caliber are lacking. Wayne has a style but no substance. Kanye maybe on his way back but the 808′s/Autotune era took him way down. And Drake is the new LL Cool J with less lyrics and more music for women…

For a second, take lyricism out of the picture, regardless to what his word play might sound like or the metaphors not used, sonicically it sound good, he’s an artist in his own right, stop given him shit for something he’s not trying to be.

    definitely not his best performance
but those of you coming at Cudi are idiots because he raps about shit he cares about and not just getting money and women. Hes usually at least somewhat relevent and he has an amazing ear for samples and has great beats
