Audio: KiD CuDi “I Poke Her Face” feat. Kanye West & Common

This past Friday DJ Enuff played a brand new song on Hot 97 that had the internet in a frenzy. There were poor quality radio rips all over the place, but Yeezy's blog liberated the CDQ version yesterday. KiD CuDi utilizes those G.O.O.D. Music connections for this song, "I Poke Her Face," featuring Kanye West & Common (with A-Trak on the cuts & Lady Gaga on the sample). Hate him or love him, Man on the Moon: The Gaurdians is coming soon.

True, True. But what’s wrong with having a light-hearted song every now and again? West just released a heavy album and Common has made a career out of that. So, I welcome it if it sounds good…which this definitely does.

Btw, I’m glad to see Kanye hasn’t lost his luster on the mic. His verse is hilarious and shows that he’s been improvin on his flow.

This is what’s wrong with Hip-Hop. THis is why Hip-Hop is in the state it is. People are to narrow-minded. Do you realize Hip Hop is much more than music? You have to enjoy it, not sit down and critize the work someone puts in. One thing is not to like, another to critize. Let em do music and sit back and enjoy. This is why artists such as Common and Kweli never recieved the props they deserve. Cuz everyone is constantly on their dicks trying to say they can’t hold their own in the game. To get respect, you have to be well-rounded. Look at Kweli, with Idle Warship. Music is not a religion where there are rules. Music is a lifestyle and we have to make the best out of it… I love listenin to the old stuff Common, Kweli, Mos, The Roots, etc have, but we have to keep the hip hop movement going, rather than stopping it. And then you wonder why people hate Hip HOp? WEll, cuz of people like you.

people buy hip-hop for different reasons. cudi may not be the greatest lyricist in the word, but he is bringing some fun back to hip-hop. i’ve gotten so tired of listening to nerd rap, gangsta rap and even some political rap. i have no idea whether the album will be any good, but the mixtape last year was just what i needed.

I never said Kid Cudi was Hip Hop’s savior…i read my comment over and over and couldnt find words that hinted that….Matter of fact, I don’t dig his music, BUT i respect it….Why? cuz is haters that make Hip Hop seem something it is not….Hip Hop is meant to express yourself and not everyone can express themselves the same way…Like other comments have said, can we expect The Roots and other greats to live on forever? Nope. I liked it. And I agree with Jrsu1 about this not being what’s killing hip-hop. This shit is mad playful. The beat is dope and they most likely didn’t spend much time in making the song. No reason to hate and the lyrics are not that offensive please. Souljah boy ‘kiss me through the phone’ offends the hell out of me.

People relax…It’s a different take on a song…The A-Trak sample is dope…..The Common verse is hilarious….I’m sure it’s not going to go down as the greatest song of all time, but it’s for the fun…It’s one million times better than listening to “Kiss me thru the phone” that ish does something strange to my car speakers when it’s played…straight trash…So compare the two fun tracks and have the right to poke her face from time to time..it may make some of you guys relax more
