This past Friday DJ Enuff played a brand new song on Hot 97 that had the internet in a frenzy. There were poor quality radio rips all over the place, but Yeezy's blog liberated the CDQ version yesterday. KiD CuDi utilizes those G.O.O.D. Music connections for this song, "I Poke Her Face," featuring Kanye West & Common (with A-Trak on the cuts & Lady Gaga on the sample). Hate him or love him, Man on the Moon: The Gaurdians is coming soon.

“These grown men are acting foolish. Still disrespecting women…sad”

True, True. But what’s wrong with having a light-hearted song every now and again? West just released a heavy album and Common has made a career out of that. So, I welcome it if it sounds good…which this definitely does.

Btw, I’m glad to see Kanye hasn’t lost his luster on the mic. His verse is hilarious and shows that he’s been improvin on his flow.

  • Dat Boi J

Drewid: I agree wit lighthearted stuff, but that don’t mean you gotta be disrespecting woman. But sad to say that woman jam more to the stuff that disrespects them than the uplifting stuff.

  • R3K

“my ex still bumps xzibit, and her favorite line is i be catchin bitches while bitches be catchin feelins-cept she dont want me trickin around..its funny how she idolize a lifestyle but dont want none of it goin down” —sup BLU!

  • passer-by

I’m with motr. This song sounds like a 15 year boy came up with it and was patting himself on the back for being so clever.

  • random_dude

Just Kanye and Co. having fun – reminds me of the Throw Some D’s remix (http://videos.onsmash.com/v/aF4sQqXdMjFjKJKt) from a couple years ago. That was more enjoyable though. I expect more from Cudi. NEXT!

  • Hassan Olu

Lol!!!! @ dmo: I’m glad you caught that yo! Talk about original huh?

  • CriticalBEATdown

GOOD Music? Doubt it. Still not feeling Cudi tho. Extremely sub-par.

  • common is a foo

lmao at common’s verse. cudi is horrible tho. what is kanye thinking with this guy. cudi must be his son or something, “kanye’s kid named cudi.”

“down down for a damn cudi already said it, a poker face but i already read it.”

  • DincoT

If you don’t like cudi then don’t listen to his music. Don’t get mad because your woman loves “Day and Night” embrace the impact this emcee can bring to the game. Thieveland keeps on taking it…..

  • iGotOnMyBackpack79

CuDi got next and i told my niggas he would blow before Wale early last year. His album is shaping up to be very good IMO. Can’t wait to cop it.

  • Me on the real

WE CAN be light-hearted without coming up with weakminded
lyrics like that…while still “living alittle”.

  • open minded

oh my god!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so frustrating!!! this is why i stopped checking this site everyday.. everyone is so negative.. “wale sucks” “cudi sucks” new doesn’t suck!! open up your minds, the roots arent gong to be around forever, the torch needs to be passed at some point.. so annoying, i bet if this was raekwon doom or someone and it SUCKED, the same people would be on the dick.. i’ll say it again.. new doesn’t suck!!!!!! roots crew, rae doom mos def were all new too at one point. let the transition happen. how is hip hop ever gonna come back if no one gives the new school chance????

  • SonnyCookout

    Let’s ride indeed

  • Frizco Jonez….says

Its OK…..shouldnt have the internet going nutz though.

  • judgmental prick

all of you who like this song are the type of MEN who vicariously live your life through the spoils and foils of insecure celebrities if you are a woman and like it you have become a mysongynist.

  • still don’t get it…

CuDi is alright, but people are making a bigger deal of him than he really is. If he wasn’t taggin’ along wid Kanye everywhere, nobody would even bother to give him a second listen. Geez people, get off the hype wagon, have your own opinion.

PS: I hope Kanye’s fame isn’t bigger than Music. It would have to be for any real listener to buy this album. LOL!

    “If I don’t like it, I don’t like it, doesn’t mean that I’m Hatin’!” – Common

  • Danilo NY

This is what’s wrong with Hip-Hop. THis is why Hip-Hop is in the state it is. People are to narrow-minded. Do you realize Hip Hop is much more than music? You have to enjoy it, not sit down and critize the work someone puts in. One thing is not to like, another to critize. Let em do music and sit back and enjoy. This is why artists such as Common and Kweli never recieved the props they deserve. Cuz everyone is constantly on their dicks trying to say they can’t hold their own in the game. To get respect, you have to be well-rounded. Look at Kweli, with Idle Warship. Music is not a religion where there are rules. Music is a lifestyle and we have to make the best out of it… I love listenin to the old stuff Common, Kweli, Mos, The Roots, etc have, but we have to keep the hip hop movement going, rather than stopping it. And then you wonder why people hate Hip HOp? WEll, cuz of people like you.

  • Bourguiba

people buy hip-hop for different reasons. cudi may not be the greatest lyricist in the word, but he is bringing some fun back to hip-hop. i’ve gotten so tired of listening to nerd rap, gangsta rap and even some political rap. i have no idea whether the album will be any good, but the mixtape last year was just what i needed.

  • still don’t get it…

Danilo NY… CuDi is not Hip-Hop’s savior. Just cuz I don’t like him, doesn’t mean I won’t like the next cat. Plus you got it all twisted, backwards, and downside up. This is exactly what is killing hip-hop, people like you are settling for whack sh*t and calling it hip-hop. Don’t be foolish.

  • djrubadub

    i love poker.

  • JRSu1

“Danilo NY… CuDi is not Hip-Hop’s savior. Just cuz I don’t like him, doesn’t mean I won’t like the next cat. Plus you got it all twisted, backwards, and downside up. This is exactly what is killing hip-hop, people like you are settling for whack sh*t and calling it hip-hop. Don’t be foolish.”

For one this isn’t wack. Danilo has a point. This isn’t what is killin hip hop. Soulja Boy is killin hip hop. T-Pain is killin hip hop. This is fun playful song, dope beat. What the hell ya’ll want. Bunch of Okayplayer haters.

  • Danilo NY

    “still don’t get it…: …
Danilo NY… CuDi is not Hip-Hop’s savior. Just cuz I don’t like him, doesn’t mean I won’t like the next cat. Plus you got it all twisted, backwards, and downside up. This is exactly what is killing hip-hop, people like you are settling for whack sh*t and calling it hip-hop. Don’t be foolish.”

I never said Kid Cudi was Hip Hop’s savior…i read my comment over and over and couldnt find words that hinted that….Matter of fact, I don’t dig his music, BUT i respect it….Why? cuz is haters that make Hip Hop seem something it is not….Hip Hop is meant to express yourself and not everyone can express themselves the same way…Like other comments have said, can we expect The Roots and other greats to live on forever? Nope. You call me foolish, but your too narrow-minded, so who’s the fool? i’m not tryna change your mind..if you don’t like it, then you don’t like it, but don’t be talkin shit, like you can do any better, otherwise you would be puttin in hits right? People say Hip Hop has lost it’s essence, but what we dont realize is, we are too judgemental…Even on the greats like Kweli and Common, we have said that their new songs weren’t as good as they used to be. Of course they are good. We are just so used to listening to Train of Thought and Resurrection, respectively. I don’t settle for this, I know what Hip Hop means to me, but is never wrong to sit back and have fun with it as well. At the end of the day, I love the real shit, but can’t we atleast explore other forms of Hip Hop? Is like living in a routine, once in a while, you have to do something for a change right? So stop critizicing bro. I bet if Lil Wayne was on this track, everyone would be drooling all over their keyboards. Give them respect for atleast getting their shit played. Damnnnn. Good looking JRSu1.

  • Danilo NY

By the way, I am glad that Okayplayer has started to show support to the up and coming artist by posting their songs so people can listen.

  • beeez chi-city

it saddens me that this young man actually has all of this talent around him…he does not deserve it. no download on this one.

  • blasto kid

I liked it. And I agree with Jrsu1 about this not being what’s killing hip-hop. This shit is mad playful. The beat is dope and they most likely didn’t spend much time in making the song. No reason to hate and the lyrics are not that offensive please. Souljah boy ‘kiss me through the phone’ offends the hell out of me.

No hate on this track, and i’m guily of attempting a download.

Young jeezy is a bad tipper. word.

  • Koldplay

This is terrible…Common what are you thinking…I almost expect this from Kanye but come on. How is a song titled “I poke her face” not disrespectful and degrading to women??? Would anyone want a song like this made about their sister? This is not cool …at all. It is funny how an imprint like G.O.O.D music takes advantage of the void of “real” hip hop and tries to present this as such. Go back to the lab guys …”I never call you a bitch or even my boo, so much more in a name so much more in you…but then you jump on a track called “I poke her face” huh?

  • lexicon

i agree with koldplay. waste of a very cute beat.

  • peole rel

People relax…It’s a different take on a song…The A-Trak sample is dope…..The Common verse is hilarious….I’m sure it’s not going to go down as the greatest song of all time, but it’s for the fun…It’s one million times better than listening to “Kiss me thru the phone” that ish does something strange to my car speakers when it’s played…straight trash…So compare the two fun tracks and have the right to poke her face from time to time..it may make some of you guys relax more

  • ruin

    new link?

  • rise09

    CuDi = teeny bopper music

  • still don’t get it…

Danilo, calm down you’re gonna have a heart attack. And quit hatin’ on a hater, that makes you a hater. Kid CuDi is just mad corny yo’, that is my opinion, quit trippin..

  • 90sindahouse

    yooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo this song is niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice!

  • Danilo NY

    still don’t get it…..

I see you still don’t get it, you ignant dude…..w.e bro….i wasnt hating on you, read WORD for WORD, not what the mirage you be creating boyy.

  • soundminder

glad to see A-Trak getting some love. he’s a killer DJ. his has a new album too. check it here: http://infinityplusone.tumblr.com

  • jemstar

The Song is just a bit of fun. why is everyone trippin like hip hop has to be serious and thought provoking all the time. all that would do is make the music truly one dimensional.

“like you aint ever wanted to poke her face… buffoonery”

  • All you idiots

its their music they wrote(remix) it, you dont like it dont listen to it. end of story.

  • teddie

i fuckin love this song it is the shit and if you dont like it then your just a loser and you need to get over your slef

  • Jimm I

Koldplay and lexicon need to get a life. The track is bangin and a bit of fun…nothing wrong with having fun on a track. And let’s not act like Com can’t rhyme about pokin a face becuz he’s did the light… hip hop is about reality and reality is you can express the feelings he expressed about women on the light and still want to get your d*cked sucked. And the statement about having a sister is just dumb. So you mean to tell me you don’t get head from women because you have a sister? If you’re thinkin about your sister when gettin a blow then something’s wrong with you! Like it or not someone’s pokin ya sister’s face and she probably likes it! Oh oh oh oh P-P-P-poke her face P-P-P poker her face! lol.

  • kidtruth

This song is stupid as shit but Jimm is funny and right.

  • manx

“do you listen to music or do you just browse through it” Common’s verse is a preemptive response to most of your criticisms. It isn’t all navel-gazing, even if I do think the song is too corny for me. Whenever I hear really serious singing of really goofy-ass lyrics it makes me crack up.
