Audio: KiD CuDi “Erase Me” feat. Kanye West

Kid CuDi plans on releasing his sophomore LP, Man on The Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager, on September 14th, or what has been declared "G.O.O.D. Music Day" (Kanye, Cudi, Big Sean etc. all dropping). For Cudi's latest single he teams up with Kanye West and Jim Jonsin for "Erase Me." This isn't exactly what you'd call hip-hop, and I can't really say I'm diggin' it either way. But make up your own minds, feelin' it?

Wow. . . I’m guessing Jim Jonsin produced this with Good Charlotte in mind but a stoned-out Cudi bought it. This is bland pop/rock trash with a so-so verse from Kanye.

Cudi sucks, I wish I had a reason to like him, but I haven’t found one yet, especially with shit like this.

KiD CuDi is a poser. I bet the real alternative rock folks laugh at this guy.

I can’t say i like this cut but I’m still a Cudi fan. I think he’s got a pretty unique style and puts it down on the mic. In my opinion..

I loved (read: LOVED) the “A Kid Named Cudi” mixtape. I really liked the “Dat Kid from Cleveland” mixtape. But, with Cudi’s debut, he went the experimental ‘weird’ emo route before he really earned the right too. You have to have a KILLER debut, and then you earn the RIGHT to go weird, you can’t do it the other way around. Not even the Beatles could (n’or could Andre 3K for those not feeling the Beatles comparison). And I was never a crossover fan, even when Run DMC/Aerosmith did it (I know, blasphemy), so I always just roll my eyes when I hear it. I think somebody in Kudi’s camp needs to sit down with him and say “Look. I know you’re trying to be an artist, but just for one album, be a fuckin’ rapper. You got the skills, it’s time to get over yourself and just do it, ’cause you’re losin’ ‘em out there.”

Ive been saying all along that cudi is more of a pop act than he is hip hop. So i dont know why people are so suprised when his stuff comes from left field. i think cudi makes great music. Hes a horrible rapper, and not that good of a singer, but he makes great songs.

What the fuck… I was not expecting that.

@Def reez, I completely agree with you. This guy has always had a bit of a pop flare to his songs and even though we aren’t digging this track, guarantee you this shit blows up and is played on radio stations and clubs constantly…
Kid Cudi is a bit odd because I think he raps fairly well but I agree he cannot sing at all, but for some reason it works. He still manages to make really good music.

To this day Soundtrack 2 My Life is my favorite song to smoke up and cruise at night to, shit is so meditating.

I’m not liking this song at all but when it comes to an artist like Kid Cudi, I’m willing to hear new things and see what he wants to experiment with.
