Ever since Kanye went into hiding, every big name in hip-hop has been giving their 2-cents about the high caliber rap on 'Ye's upcoming album, Good Ass Job. I took a "I'll believe it when I hear it" approach. Well, now we all have our first chance at experiencing it with this new song, "Power," off of Good Ass Job. Dude put the Auto-tune down, and is back to spittin – y'all feelin it? UPDATE: Word is this might be an unfinished version of the song, and the album title may have changed. We now have the final mixed and mastered version as well as the George Condo "Power" portrait to accompany it.

Kanye West "Power (prod. S1 & Kanye West) [Final Version]" feat. Dwele

  • Oji

    Inspirational!

  • robbb

i’m sorry but i don’t like him. he’s an arrogant and superficial id*ot. by the way…the beat is awful!

  • Wack

His verse was ok but the production was horrible. What happened to the Pete Rock and Dj Premier joints? Anyway this song is wack finished or unfinished.

  • KD06

This is banging. His persona is wack but he makes good music…

  • trashy

the idiot is back. big deal. the track is OK. nothing more.

  • dapluva!

    booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • Gshyt

This shit is GREAT. Fuck all yall sensitive bitches mad cuz he dissed your beloved George Bush and stole your darling Taylor Swift’s grammy moment. His music is still fiyah.

You dummies mad at his persona LOL. As the songs says “Kiss (his) whole ass.. more specifically you can kiss (his) asshole.. oh (he’s) an asshole?.. You niggas got joooooooookes”

  • RodC

Feelin’ ya Kanye, dat fire is back! Just hope that the final version isn’t so explicit…this could be a real inspirational banger.

  • Legendarydjc

How y’all gonna hate on this beat???This is the closest thing to hit classic beats like “Whole City Behind Us” and “Used to Love U” that we’ve had in YEARS! and I know EVERYONE loves and misses those beats. Secondly, his verse is DEF deeper than his previous work and great!! Stop hatin on my man cuz NONE of y’all doin what he does and changing hip-hop single-handedly like he has. PERIOD.

  • ANTOINEXXX

LETS BE HONEST, KANYE WEST’S COLLEGE DROPOUT SAVED HIP-HOP BACK IN 2003, AND HE’S DOING IT AGAIN. HE’S ONE OF THE FEW PEOPLE WITH THE TALENT AND ABILITY TO INNOVATE AND CREATE HIGH QUALITY MUSIC ANYDAY ANYTIME.]

    HE’S AN ASSHOLE, SO WHAT?

I’M SO GLAD YEEZY IS BACK!!!!! LONG LIVE GOOD MUSIC

  • JayWall

Kanye West > ignant niggas and teeny bopper whiteys everywhere

  • redrum

ohhhhhhhhhhhh shitttt king crimson sample niiice

  • kasper the ghost

kanye may be an asshole sometimes sure, but that doesnt mean this song is wack, that shit is fire just like a ton of other music he had a hand in, i mean half the celebrities out there are complete assholes they just do a better job covering it up than kanye, dude is just passionate and im glad to see him channel into music again

  • Squelch

Persona aside, it is a step in the right direction. Certainly not a classic by any means but if he can keep it up the album could prove he’s back.

  • dunk7

    Welcome back….

  • Jericho Drumm

    …meh.

I think I’ll listen to the Hezekiah track again; just to get the sound of this synch-tech-pop shit out of my head.

  • OKAYDUKE

Kanye knows how to mix old school with the new… and do it right!
Plain and simple… All you hatin mo-fo’s don’t like anything but the 90′s. LMAO
It’s a new day.. music is changing, get with it!

  • Jericho Drumm

Most overused word in hip-hop, DRUM ROLL…………………HATIN’!!!!

Hatin’ = So fucking cliche’. People aren’t allowed to “NOT” like a song anymore. Ay dios mio; can we find another word to use? Come on people…I mean…SHAZBOT!!!!

I’m sorry, I’m just filled with rage right now!!!

  • OKAYDUKE

People aren’t allowed to not like a song anymore??
People just don’t like anything period.

Big deal sayin, Hatin…. What do you wanna use? Dis-like??

  • Jericho Drumm

    @ OKAYDUKE

I’ll make up a word; how about “FLARKEL?” Check this out: All of these OKP cats are a bunch of “Flarkels” and should quit “flarkeling.”

    Yeah…I think that’ll work.

  • yaya from south jersey

maaaan this felt really good, i like how he disappeared and came back strong.. can’t wait to buy his album

  • E.Dante

    Well done, Kanye!

  • MattyCoCo

track is straight, sounds like the same drums from Crack Music i forget the sample those drums came from

  • Maccabbis

The D and the Chi connect once again! That MidWest is something else.

  • Maccabbis

The spirit of JD is among us.

  • dapluva!

common said it best if ”i don’t like it i don’t like it doesn’t mean that i’m hatin.”

  • umm no thanks

niggaz need to read books and get off themselves. thanks why im bumping damian and nas and by passing this pop shit

  • Grrr

I’ll take this over most of the songs that are featured on here. Glad to hear ‘Ye rhyming again. But I loved 808 so whatever.

As far as Nas and Damian are concerned, their pan-African subject matter and overall vibe can be heard back in 1988-1991. Ain’t nothing new under the sun. Also, nothing wrong with pop if it’s done creatively.

    I’m diggin’ it.

  • soulful Dee

For all you youngins this is straight up 80′s rock power ballad! Kanye always mentioned it. Listen to almost ANY 80′s pop/rock song they are epic, same thing here bringing that. Sounds a little unfinished but good nonetheless. Truth 808 and heart breaks musically was good. Outside of that(which was preference) Kanye has not made a bad album, this joint gonna be the same, straight up Press play

  • Zebras

    Decent, nothin more

  • ilike…

    like it ..sounds good

  • djrubadub

kanyeezy!!! good to have you back…..

let me get on a track. u would be the first to put me on. and everybody would be like, “ye got an ear for talent.”

  • gregory kruxx

Kanye been droping that fire since “this cant be life”…thats circa 2000 yo..
The most important thing is he believes in himself , so even when yall HATE..He still got the momentum…and that includes 80s which was dope initself

This shit is Power fa real!!!

    Yeah yeezy keep it coming

  • sstretch

yo never been a kanye fan, but this track is good though. Ya’ll heard that this track was supposed to be RHYMEFEST’s beat. The main producer SYMBOLIC ONE (STRANGE FRUIT PROJECT) said he had it for RHYMEFEST then RHYMEFEST played it for KANYE and KANYE took it lol come on YE, can’t even give this track to RHYMEFEST?? LOL Joint would have been on CHE

  • OKAYDUKE

After hearin this track again.. this is NICE. woo wee!

  • gregory kruxx

S1 did produce it for Rhymefest originally but who u think put S1 on to Mr. West> AND it is co produced by Ye meaning thst S1 did the groundwork and yeah produced the rest and adjusted the overall feel…adding Dwele, lacing he vocals, the pianos etc etc….

Kanye’s vision is crazzzy and this album will be too

    GOOD ASS JOB YE!!!!!

  • gregory kruxx

Oh and for all you clown ass niggahs who diss 808s too and say it aint HIp HIp..
Then you dont even know what Hip Hop is…
Hip Hop has electro roots too… Remember Hip Hop borrowed and borrows from everything…

SO Kanye never lost a touch he just alienated some of yall corny ass niggahs cause he did something a lil more personal and stuck it out and yall got confused

    HATERS

ITs the return of Mr. West, one of the only few to really go in and take a chance on himself in Hip HOP

  • Raw B

Anyone defending 808′s is a kanye dick-rider, period. That album was an example of letting your ego out of control. Dude had no buisnes singing anything, let alone on a whole album. and this beat is average at best. Kanye needs to come harder on all fronts.

  • gregory kruxx

Raw B.: you clown ass niggah…did u read what u wrote.
He let his ego outa control…its called creativity u moron….he did what he wanted to its called art expression….your a fucking ignorant ass niggah actually i retract ur a ignant assssss niggggahhhhhh
You really shouldt be listening to hip hop clown ass fool…
Hip Hop gota alot egos…hence why mc’s say the the best…ignorant ass fool

Kanye needs to come harder…hahahah…yo sun, why dnt u jump on a track lets see what you can do..

why does everything gota be hard…whats the matter you need hard shit cause u cant keep your dick hard whats the matter sensitive music affect you…awww im sorry

    I forgot

Hip Hop should only sound 1 way….one dimensional ass cornball

  • asianguy

tight beat, cant wait for the album

  • DRE’(P.O.A.A.U@78)

not bad, a little ,more creativity is needed in my opinion 4 this album. west still out shines much of peers.

  • Ric

    I like this Kanye track

    Buy Beats

  • Bittybumbum

off first listen i’m not moved.. its whatever.. Not wack, but not like wow.. whatever.. Do ya thang ye..

  • spook01

he next album should be called “The Death of Kanye West” adapted from Nas’s record. I miss the old/good kanye

  • 937andheartbreak

beat tight but lyrics was shit.

whats up with the comment “light skinned girls”? maybe im taking it wrong.

  • JnG

    man what your talking bout
its not the best track but i here that kanye is back on his thing
hes getting better compared to his last album…
    so stop trippin

  • BlueJet

Dopeeneessssss!!!!!! I dont care what any of you say the track was fiyah!!! Fuck Taylor Swift and Fuck SNL!!!

  • don kwon

Ridiculously out of control ego and immature idiotic side of him considered.. dude is a monster. Undoubtedly one of the best ever. Can’t wait.

  • real hip hoppa since 2004

dilla never made a beat this dope. and kanye is spitting on some rakim 2010 shit. damn ‘ye

  • Breezy

@real hip hoppa since 2004 .. well i do understand it’s a joke but it’s really not a funny one .. RIP Dilla Dawg

  • atx31

that fool trying to dog dilla might be clinically insane.

  • spook01

    @real hip hoppa since 2004 stay classy…

  • realmidwestshit

i’m a lifelong kanye fan… but he’s no black milk. and i know there are quite a few people out there who won’t get pissed at the fact that i just said that.

  • young yak

    @ real hip hoppa since 2004: …
dilla never made a beat this dope. and kanye is spitting on some rakim 2010 shit. damn ‘ye

……nigga are u f*cking joking????black milk could due this shyt
fucking flying lotus could do this shit nigga please J DILLA FOR EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    my dude

  • young yak

plus that dude is not on some dont sweat the techniqe shyt at all is good
but u just like his delivery…u need to hear those ” black thought freestyles on the dilla tribute …that sht is hard…..yo this guy just made me mad..

  • real hip hoppa since 2004

i’m sorry, but kanye is a demi-god emcee. and one of thee god producers. maybe dre and rza can hang with him. premo back in the day could, but not anymore (wack now).

  • YES!

LOVE IT!!!!…but for those arguing Kanye didnt even do dis beat. S1 did

  • Bittybumbum

man dudes name is real hip hop since ’04.. Of course he would think rap started with Eminem.. My man J.Dilla was one of the founders of neo soul and jazzy hip hop and whats so dope about dude is he didn’t put his style in a box. Look up dillas discography. If you don’t believe his musical talent look at how many producers copy his style and look up interviews and see who kanye, ?uestlove, Hi-tek, etc, etc, pay homage to.. RIP JDILLA

  • atx31

props to bittybumbum. kanye is an ill emcee and a hell of a producer, but he doesn’t compare to that of the genius of dilla and what he did or even the rza for that matter. real hip hoppa since 2004 is an idiot. throwing around god emcee and god producer, are you really trying to say that kanye is as good if not better than the likes of rakim, krs-one, nas, pac, biggie and others when it comes to emceeing and guys like dilla, rza, primo, pete rock, dre when it comes to producing, hell no. this is coming from one of yeezy’s biggest fans, so im no hater of him whatsoever, i even defended his ass when he dropped 808′s. all im saying is dont be in a hurry to give kanye so much credit, while you throw legendary figures in hip hop under the bus.

  • Uhurube

no more 808′s jus Beat breaks and Lyric ok Kanye!!!!

  • D. HOGG

    yup…nice warning shot.

  • watitdone

its aiite… too many hypebeasts on Kanye’. Everything he comes out with is a “classic”. Same folks who think love lockdown is a good song.. lmao

  • Bittybumbum

thank you atx31.. yea no disrespect to kanye, but come on throw premo and dilla under the bus?… HELL NO WE WON’T GO!!!!!

  • K. Samson

Kanye has came along way. Anyone can tell his takes his work serious. I admit that I was not big on 808s and Heartbreaks but that was him being experimental…and every artist should be able to do so…Common, The Roots, Mos Def all cross genre’s with their music and they have a loyal fan base not to mention they do not succomb to all that garbage in mainstream music today. So I give Kanye the benefit of the doubt on 808s but the College Dropout, Late Registration and Graduation were all good albums. I think his album is going to be on point and I will definitely be getting it when it comes out.

  • sstretch

Yo Kanye fans are worst than Jay-Z fans. If dude drops a wack album, they will still praise it as EXPERIMENTING WITH HIS SOUND AND MUSIC” lol That’s funny, how you experimenting with your sound by BITING SOMEBODY ELSE’S SOUND, i.e. AUTOTUNE lol Come on, that 808 trash was wack. Stop defending the dude, not everything he going to do is going to be hot and to that dude HIP HOPPA SINCE 2004, YOU CAN’T BE SERIOUS??? Look at your screen name though, so you probably a young boy that’s oblivious to real music. Doggy go on YOUTUBE and do research, its easy now for you YOUNG UNS who love that DUMB DOWN MUSIC. Ya’ll embarrassing our generation by listening to that radio subliminal trash and mainstream music

  • marcuzakamoo says

To sstretch: man, just face it homie, you’re just not cultivated enough to comprehend what it is that Kanye does. It’s a new day. and you’re probably still living in the past, thinking that people still have to be gangsters and stuff like that. I admit, most ppl are sheep and don’t know anything other than main stream music but Ye’ is one of those dudes that I actually enjoy listening to who gets play on the radio. i don’t give a damn what the case may be, you can’t deny good music. The same goes for Drake. It was weird having my little cousins enjoy listening to someone that I listen to, but I digress. Bottom line is: This is a big world that we’re living in and there’s a lot of people who ain’t gonna always think how you think nor like what you like. And all due respect, homie, i think it’s about time that you just get simply over it…..

  • hell naw son

this shit WACK WACK WACK WACK WACK WACK WACK BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

  • illtonez

    LOL yea….give it up ‘YE

  • YuNg TrAp JoNze

Stretch, Ye’s worst album is better than your favorite rappers best album, if youre over 30 and youre still talking about hating on “radio” friendly hip-hop, youre the type of person that actually hurts hip-hop rather than helping it. Kanye is the best to do this rap ish in a very, very long time, dude does it on a international level, if you dont dig it, go “keep it real” and listen to a NECRO album lol

  • gregory kruxx

Yall ned to learn the difference between producing and beatmaking…..S1 crafted the beat…Ye produced it and orchestrated it,,,

rememebernot mixed or finished clown asses

  • RJG

Great track and a killer MC. People love to hate on Kayne.

  • vito

this shit tighter than bird pussy keep up the good music homie

  • CLee

Beautiful Death? What in the heck is he talking about?

  • sstretch

Yo YuNg TrAp JoNze how am I hating if I don’t like it?? And how am i hurting hip hop when i actually BUY CDS. When’s the last time you went to a store and bought a CD?? I can tell you a downloading pirate doggy. Admit it KANYE made a bad album and was biting on his 808 autotune garbage. I LISTEN TO REAL HIP HOP MUSIC my friend. and 808 wasn’t HIP HOP, he was singing dogs and he doesn’t have the voice for it so he’s autotuning. I don’t need to waste my fonts on you, because obviously you don’t know what real music is. And to marcuzakamoo, you straight up making judgements talking about I listen to all GANGSTA music lol what you smoking man, I BUY CDS, i got all sorts of artists in my achieves dogs, I got TRIBE, DELA, WU, NWA, RAKIM, KOOL G, KRS, BIG DADDY KANE, SOULS OF MISCHIEF, FOREIGN EXCHANGE, LITTLE BROTHER, BLACK MOON, GANGSTARR, SON the list goes on and on, i more cds than you, listened to more hip hop than you and make beats, so I’m way AHEAD of your time. You download music on the NET and you guys don’t even know who produced what, who recorded what, who mixed what track, dogs, i’m in hard on hip hop. So if I say an album is wack especially when it comes to KANYE, i’m hating?? Dogs, stop treating this dude like GOD, he ain’t god,I don’t even blame YE for his BIG HEAD, its dudes and front runners like ya’ll that PUMP HIS HEAD UP even if its a wack song or album. The word hate is overrated, just because somebody don’t like it they haters lol I’m done, ya’ll can have this dude

  • H. Reyes

lol. wtf came out in 2004 besides Madvillainy?

  • cla

All I know is that Kanye has continued to up his game. Sure yall don’t have to like it. But it sure isn’t the same ole bubblegum pop many are claiming it to be. I say knocking beats- and I mean beatS plural bc the pieces he uses here might be made into a number of beats by another producer. Whereas, he layers and composes these components here and puts each beat to work just walking the fence of overcrowding the sounds. I don’t see why the purist couldn’t feel the knock as well as those who seek for something more complex.

  • Dezz

the beat is utterly amazin’.. i love Kanye more than the average fan but i wasn’t happy with this song.. im sure this ties into his CD in some artistic sense. I’ll still be buying it though.

    http://www.twitter.com/dezzgotsteeze

  • Genyus

    Its Abouts time

  • Gshyt

Wow. You dummies are really mad that he said “rollin with some light skin girls”. But the next part of that line is
    “AND SOME KELLY ROWLANDS”
In other words he’s saying he’s rolling with light skinned AND dark skinned girls. C’mon. Yall dummies can’t even listen to a whole line before you go gettin all offended. Fuckin idiots.

And this shit is FIRE btw.

  • audio tech

i dont get all the hoopla about this..the beat is average, run-of-the mill and ‘Ye aint sayin much..i’ll wait for his next single, see if it’s any better

  • JamieP

this is one of the best kanye tracks Ive ever heard….although I still think the dude is hands down the most over rated MC to ever walk the planet earth and ya’ll been brainwashed to like him just like lil wayne…. cause dude comes off sounding like a retard on the mic every time. His production is dope though… shame he didnt stick to sitting behind the boards. Ive always wondered if he got some kind of brain damage in that car accident? and thats on the real.

but I have to give him props on this one because he actually sounds almost good..

it just depresses me that theirs so many great MCs out there getting slept on while dudes like kanye grab the lime light

  • Professor_X

Beat is nice. Dwele at the end is a nice touch.

  • JamieP

by unorthodox do you mean wack and putting it with a hot beat and sweet mastering to make it “sound” good? the mans lyrics are all so childish and hypocritical. I just dont understand how he gets catagorised with artists like the roots, common and talib… dudes who have real lyrical skill and intelligent agendas in their songs messages. kanye both in his actions and musical content is like a 12 year old kid hyped up on too much red cordial and whats worse is these kids and even teenagers listen to him and see him in the ranks of these MCs who are posative role models and aspire to be like him… dude just makes me sick. that the current state of hip hop is at a point where a cat like kanye can be considered to be one of the best.

  • DillaPupil

@real hip hoppa since 2004 …this cat is LOST talkin’ about dilla neva made anything this dope….YOU CALLIN’ YASELF OUT WITH ATHAT “REAL HIP HOPPA SINCE 04″ isssh….you’s a youngin….SON!

  • Koolie Duke

    @real hip hoppa since 2004

Call me real hip hoppa since 1984 – You a dumb fuck! Dilla’s sound help change the landscape and so did Rakim’s flow…. This is just some shit to take make some ring tones with… Fake ass “anthems” I went to Kanye’s concert (flashing lights) Dude is full of himself, too full of himself not to be the best…..

  • Cokanutz

Now is he going to let Dwele in the video this time?

  • Craft23

Kanye, It’s good to hear those deep lyrics, keep doing it MAN, FUCK what a HATER has to say, HATING is MOTIVATING !!!!

  • Quit_h8n_Homey

Man, it seems like forever, since you’ve heard Kanyeezy THIS ferocious! Adding his album to the “2010 musical must buy list” fer shur!

  • Ulmer

Yo…. Maybe I got this wrong and he has a political or satirical reason for the “light-skinned girls” comment? Loved Kanye when he was out spitting the rhymes, saying what needed to be said. But that comment threw me. Besides that I like the beat but I hope he really has an agenda/purpose I missed in the song. And for those think hip-hop has been real since 2004 as the above comment…. are you serious? Again did I miss something? Cause the real stuff is what you are not hearing nor buying. If it just moves the crowd, instead of people’s mind… the music ain’t saying too much.

Thanks for taking the time to discuss this, I feel strongly about it and love learning more on this topic. If possible, as you gain expertise, would you mind updating your blog with more information? It is extremely helpful for me. It’s important to note that different states have different statutes and rulings under bankruptcy law, so what goes in Rhode Island might not be good in, say, North Dakota or California or Arkansas.

I have to agree with you, it’s silly to spend a lot of time learning things, not to apply what you know. I know someone like this that’s very knowledgeable but doesn’t even work for a living. In fact, he barely ever goes out side. He’s a person that reads a great deal and is a computer whiz but never really does anything with his knowledge. It’s kind of a waste.

Great presentation of tool in the video and all the steps of marketing in this video are appreciable.
