Lost in all the Runaway hysteria was the latest edition of G.O.O.D. Fridays. The song however, does relate directly to the film (watch the vid and it'll make sense). Listen to the Swizz Beatz produced track "Don't Look Down" (The Phoenix Story) featuring Mos Def, Lupe Fiasco, and Big Sean. The song is cool, but "Don't Stop" is still my favorite track, thus far. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy drops November 22nd.

The song could have ended right after Lupe’s verse honestly. Or Mos should have rapped.

This song’s kind of boring. In fact, with exception of the usual suspects (The Roots, Pharaoh, Sean P. and a few others), the genre’s pretty fucking boring.

I wish someone would come along and just “Nirvana” all of this goofy, blase shit that’s being peddled as Hip Hop.

Please mix this song so that it can sound good. Great elements but a butt mixdown. Call Russ Elevado or Bob Power or somebody.

I agree with Jericho above- this is so boring. You know, hip hop is getting like a boring lover who used to have the goods- you know all of their moves in the bedroom now, they keep re-telling the same stories over and over again, and even though you love them to death, you’re just plain ol’ sick of seeing them. You find yourself quietly nit-picking the way that they talk, chew, snore, etc…

I know there’s a lot of Mos fans here and I consider myself one as well, but why does he always seem to do the same frikken melody and phrasing? Seriously, expand your horizons, Mos. I’ll take this over Wakka Flocka Wackness but that ain’t saying much.

the genre is going through an evolution….in order to recreate itself there must be a certain amount of destruction or self destruction. Not a Kanye stan but the truth is he is on the forefront of this rebirth. I think this song is fire. Hip hop fans are weird. You want someone to do something new but when they do it isn’t good enough. In the process you call for so called “real hip-hop” when the reality is that the music is growing albeit slowly…but growing nonetheless. I don’t understand who has the definition or the lock and key on what hip hop is and what it should be. The fans hold the music back more than any other factor. Our weak wills, or inability to move forward is what prevents the genre from moving forward. Thus the music reflects the people. So if we see something ugly then we should really look to ourselves instead of demonizing the artist. It would be like hating on Davinci or Michelangelo for their creations when their creations are only a reflection of the will of the people..or the vision of the people. In short the music isn’t boring …the people are! We are vapid, homophobic, shortsighted, money hungrey etc. Like MOs said..”hip hop isn’t some giant living in the sky. ..when the people change hip hop will change. I have heard people call Kanye a devil worshiper, gay all types of just ill conceived hatred…he receives this hatred because he is attempting to push the envelope. He actually is changing the entire aesthetics of hip hop. Furthermore, there are maaaany excellent MCs who are pushing the envelope but don’t get the love and support they deserve…so who is to blame for that? we could talk all day long about Blu, or the Roots, or Mos, or Atmosphere, Aesop Rock, Intuition,Das Racist, Black Spade etc. etc. that never got love in the mainstream…so the end result is the progress that hip hop should have had was stagnated because we chose to prop up the lil waynes and the lil boosies and the Master Ps of the world which is a clear demonstration of where our values are..in the toilet. So the music is with us.
