Really…a whole autotune album. I think I’d rather hear him sing outta tune. I guess it sounds better than nasally ass Akon. To me it’s go all the way ala Chromeo/Roger and Zapp (I know it’s a whole different instrument). A whole album of this gimmick?…really? I guess I’m just being snobby if I’m okay with chromeo and not with kanye…it’s just not the same sound.

I think I like this Kanye song the most out of all the 808 & HB songs that are out. I know a lot of people aren’t feeling where he’s going but Jay-Z put it best in the Lost remix. “If you succeed prepare to be crucified.” It’s the ROC!

Gotta say, I’m a fan of Ye as a rapper, I have to get used to hearing him singing.
That Jay verse is from his Grammy Family freestyle which I have a feeling will get released on an upcoming album under the name “Most Kings” after the line when he says “most kings get driven so insane that they try to hit the same vein that Kurt Cobain did.” It’s a crazy freestyle, one of his best.

Mr. West is definitely pushing the limits of music and crossing all types of the restraining boundaries implemented by “hip-hop professionals” with his new album, but don’t forget Phonte and Nicolay’s “Foreign Exchange” series had a similar goal yet did not get the explosive response West is getting. Simply put, Mr. West is not the first nor the last hip-hop artist to step outside the confines of his usual musical role. I feel that his fans as well as anyone else who considers themselves true music appreciators should support his musical endeavors whole-heartedly simply because of his creative, refreshing and simply GOOD quality music. ~one~
Believe me I’m down with folks pushing the art. It doesn’t mean I have to like it. Autotune is 1 element and it isn’t pushing the envelope where weezy already jumped on the wagon (I like weezy) and akon and t-pain are nothing without autotune. Granted his autotuning is better than those others artists. Musically, I dig Tears for Fears- the Hurting is on my 20 GOAT albums. I’m down with Kanye jackin it. And he has an good ear for flipping good tracks. But honestly- he didn’t really flip this one.
Somebody said that good music come is all sounds, textures, blends, vibes, expressions, etc.. So just chill and enjoy this young man while he’s around. There will be only one KANYE WEST…He’s doing his own kind of music. Something that not every artist is given the luxury of doing. STOP THE HATIN!

I’m all for pushing he boundaries, kanye has always done that but…… i don’t know. The production on all the new tracks is a bit bland. and the lyrics aren’t great either. I don’t mind him signing but it doesn’t seem very polished to me. We andre made his shift on love below he had been singing and perfecting his style for years on outkast albums. This is just something kanye decided to do spur of the moment and he isn’t executing it very well.

Don’t compare this to Electric Circus. E.C. was an artist’s actual creative path that failed. 808′s is an entire album of sythesized voice BS that’s been done to death already.
