Since we dropped the ball and didn’t post about Illa J‘s album when news of it first came out, we’ll hit you with two songs from him today. Illa J (J Dilla‘s little brother) is dropping an album titled Yancey Boys where he will be rhyming over some of his late-great brother’s unreleased beats. The first joint below is called “We Here” which is his first single and I forgot to post it. The next song is the b-side to “We Here” and it just hit the net yesterday it is titled “R U Listenin?” feat. Guilty Simpson. So enjoy both songs and buy the album when it drops this November on Delicious Vinyl. Shout out to Hyphen for sending this one over.

Typical Yancey boys. This album is going to be incredible. I can tell it’s some left over beats from the Tribe/Ummah era though they definitely have that feel.
