Audio: Focus… “Homage To Ali Shaheed” feat. Von Pea, Donwill & Chaundon

For a minute now, producer Focus… has had an on going series paying tribute to some of hip-hop's greats. For the latest in his series he pays tribute to the highly underrated A Tribe Called Quest producer, Ali Shaheed. The tribute features Von Pea, Donwill, and Chaundon. Says Don of the collab: "Focus… does these homages, like, monthly and Von had put me on to 'em. After the RZA one dropped, I went to Twitter and said, 'Somebody tell Focus… I want in.' Within 2 re-Tweets he was following me and we had moved to Gmail."

Q-Tip Is Confused

Didn’t Q-Tip produce the first 3 Tribe albums and then co-produce the other two with Jay Dee? I know Ali produces also and did some stuff here and ther but really….wasn’t Ali more of the dj? People have been confused about this for years but Q-tip was the producer, no?

Does Ali Shaheed Produce? Yes.
Did Ali produce ATCQ? No.
Q-Tip did, As mentioned in the comments Jay Dee co-produced the last 2 albums.
I pretty sure Ali had some input on the beats but Q-tip is your man for a producer tribute of ATCQ.
On another note I like this beat!!!
