Audio: Felt (Slug x Murs) "Felt Chewed Up"

Posted by Shamz on

Felt's (Slug x Murs x Aesop Rock) latest project, Felt 3: A Tribute to Rosie Perez, is set to drop on November 17th via Rhymesayers Entertainment. Being that Rosie easily smashes on Lisa Bonet and Christina Ricci, I expect this to be the best Felt project to date. Here's their latest track, "Felt Chewed Up." Get the early jump on the LP, and pre-order it from Fifth Element.

Aesop Rock's latest album is a leap in creativity rhyme pattern and production. It is called progression and change. Artist's die out when there is no forward progress. I can name a gang of indie artists who have fell off, due to lack of progression. The weatherman camp is constantly crossing traditional boundries of hip hop like no other crew out there. The beats on this album are amazing, the coin of perfecting a craft that is true to the artists. This is the problem with fans, they seem to not understand artists taking leaps into sounds that still bang. Felt 3 is absolutely cutting age with all 3 members of the group perfecting their craft. The DJ premier, Pete Rock days of production are over, this is new wave, new genre hip hop. And it comes down to if you don't like it, you don't like it, but do not disrespect it for it is a work of art of it's own.

LT: you're not the only one. i'm not a big fan of aesop's industrial/video game production sound either. in fact, i think his albums have dropped in quality since he started producing the majority of them himself. blockhead always brought some hot beats, but aesop is off in the distant future.

Am i the only one who can't get into these Aesop beats? I know the dude is talented... I understand the respect he gets and deserves. I just don't get how this shit is dope and everyone is looking forward to it. The first 2 Felt albums were tight I liked the Grouch production on the first and I loved the Ant production on the second (SO DAMN FUNKY.) I just cant get into this techno/spacey/ out there shit. This doesnt even sound like Slug and Murs. I will support the project because I dig on these two dudes but damn why not 9th on production or something.
