Audio: Charles Hamilton "Mixtape Vents"

So we were mistaken yesterday, that "Best Blogger Alive" joint will not be on Charles Hamilton's upcoming OKP mixtape, "Death of the Mixtape Rapper." This song, however, "Mixtape Vents" is the first leak off of the tape.

Freestyle wizard. Lyrics are Clever/funny/witty. His OWN beats that he makes are pretty tight too. Some are kinda soft though. Go to Youtube and Search 'Windows Media Player Charles Hamilton'...pretty clever kid!

i know charles personally and don't get it twisted your man is nice , he is defiantly bringing hip hop back, this song isn't his greatest and personally i favor his unreleased mix tape "The Pink Lavalamp" over his last mix tape but his shit still bumps in my ipod almost everyday and not just cause I know him from high school, but trust when i say your may nice and you defiantly got something good to look for when the official album drop. I would bet money on it. Also to agree with your man anthony he is def doing something better then these southern rappers or soulja boy bull shit niggas who just got a hot beat and a dance. And clevanands finest stop hating if he's wack stop listing!!!

I'm not up in arms going ape shit over this track. Charles Hamilton (Mr. Pink Polo...wow) has his moments on the mic but this track is clearly not one of them,at least for me.The lyrics are both sub par. His signature drunk sounding hooks are starting to get both annoying and repetitious. He's starting to sound like a Wayne wannabe and I can't stand Wayne so that tells you where I stand on the issue of Mr.Hamilton's artistic credibility.Bottomline step your game up Mr. Pink Polo because right now you aren't offering anything new that the radio isn't already spewing over the infested airwaves.

I can't really see what all the hype is about. I mean he's not bad, he's just not great like he thinks he is. there's a lot of politics in hip hop that's how we hear about these new acts because someone liked him up top. don't believe the hype

I have to ditto what "Here It Is" said below. Saying Charles Hamilton is better than a lot of other rappers doesn't make him good. Getting shot in the arm is better than getting shot in the face. But you still got shot.
As painful as it was, I actually listened to this song a second time to hear what CH was really saying. I don't see what's so different or revolutionary in his lyrics. Sounds like the same thing everybody else is saying. Maybe even worse.
I guess he feels that being self-deprecating cancels out the critiques against him. In the hook of this song you hear voices that are saying "he's wack" and all this other bad stuff about him. So, in using some form of reverse-psychology, we, the listeners are supposed to think that Hamilton is not wack, because he acknowledged that people think he is wack. Or at least, he's man enough to air opposing views about his "smartform". In his mind he has silenced the haters.
But if enough people think that you're wack, maybe you are just wack. But like he also says in the hook, you don't have to explain yourself.

Charles Hamilton is pretty ill but his lyrics are pretty lacking. It just sounds like he freestyles everything and gets lost. Lovin' some of his creativity though. I only heard one mixtape and a few cuts and I'm feelin' it.

We are committed to Charles for this Sept 2 drop. We shall see! In the meantime, we stay posting the isht we know you will like every day while inserting new stuff to get feedback in between... such as this.
